Mildly interesting, Jets@Jax is on Fox. Pretty lucky for the NY market because they also get Miami@NE now.

That was quite the throw by Cousins. And Thielen ... give me some.

Is there a reason Fox won't put the time remaining in the 2nd qtr on the screen?

Yes, watching the receivers on both teams is for some of us cruel and unusual punishment. But this is a great game.

What is the Rams weakness? Well coached team with an absurd amount of talent.
At the moment, not much of one. But roster and salary-cap wise, they're built to win NOW so if they don't, it's going to be a quick drop back to oblivion for them, I suspect. But for this season? Yikes.

Good year for a down year. We’d get annihilated by these guys.

Has there ever been a bigger indictment of Jeff Fisher?

Watching Cooks makes me throw up in my mouth.

One can justify/explain all of the Pats moves. Cooks, Amendola, Lewis. All explainable.

But the sum total kinda blows.

I guess Cooks was going to be too expensive. Or something.

And he was under contract for this year.

Jules yes, but I don’t think any other Patriots receiver makes either of these rosters

Josh Gordon makes my roster if I’m coaching the Rams or Vikes. But I take your point.

That was some horrendous clock management. They could have taken the TO and had 3 shots at the end zone

Why not clock it? They didn’t have time for 4 downs anyways. Teams mess that up more than anything else.

Amazing how bad teams are at clock management in the 2 minute offense.

This is a great game, particularly for a Thursday night game.

This is my weekly soap box in the NFL game thread. When you are driving with under 2 minutes left, and basically no timeouts, you fucking clock the ball after every first down, and sometimes even after 2nd down when the clock is running. You don't have enough time to use four downs anyway, so who cares if you waste a down clocking it. It's unbelievable. Every. Single. Week.

We were playing a game last week in the game thread. Name a team that you wouldn't trade all of the Pats skill position players for straight up, for their skill position players (not including Edelman and Gordon, it was about guys on the field last week). We came up with the Bills and Bears (maybe).

Only a couple times in Tom Brady's run has he ever had weapons like the ones these teams have. Minnesota is trotting out Diggs, Thielen, Rudolph and now Robinson, with Cook in the backfield, and the Rams have Gurley, Cooks, Woods, Kupp..they don't even need a fucking tight end.

Instead, we dump Cooks, Amendola, Dion Lewis, Nate Solder, and bring in guys like Jeremy Hill, Kenny Britt, Philip Dorsett, Mike Gilislee...BB the GM really, really hasn't answered the bell recently.

And in the past when the Brady had lesser weapons, the defense was much better.

Edit - defense had more talent than this year's version. Or at least it seemed that way.

Drew Bledsoe might be paying close attention to this one. Cousins was 25/32 in the first half. Bledsoe holds the single game completions record with 45. He also holds the record for attempts with 70, in that same game. The opponent, the Minnesota Vikings.

Jesus, Reynolds has to put up a bigger fight for that one. Could have easily drawn a pass interference if he stopped and tried to come back to it. Defender never turned around.

that was a good pass by the punter- I think he overran it. it's a shame to waste a good fake like that.

And you can’t fix this disparity in one offseason. If we were to hold our team to the standard it has set over the last 18 years — not scraping through with 5th or 6th seed, but being legit threat to win it all — it’s time for a rebuild.

I have no interest in getting in and getting annihilated by teams like these.

What was that Mikey P was saying about pass interference? Can’t be called by rule?

Did I hear that right? I did not know that rule

I must have missed the memo that announced Brodus Clay was going to start working for Fox News.
