Will someone tell ESPN that showing a movie trailer and a music video is not a halftime show?

You all realize it was a silly throw away line, attempt at a joke and not a “shot at Brady” by any stretch of the imagination?
You realize that we all post to a forum where most people consider Tom Brady a deity?

In other news, Wentz isn't who we thought he was.

Wentz stares down his receiver then throws it behind him anyway. Great work in goal to go situations tonight.

It was dripping with sarcasm, that's for sure. But fuck him anyway. He sucks worse at his job than Brady sucks at running.

Yup; FOX ran a whole little video package yesterday with Barry Sanders saying “1,000 yards in 20 seasons, that’s 50 yards a game! Incredible!” It was funny and people need to lighten up; all these little things are actually compliments to Brady’s longevity.

Funny how much Brady gets made fun of for being a slow and awkward runner, only running for 1000 yards in 19 years. I'm trying to remember the video packages when Peyton Manning finally reached the career 30 yard rushing mark in his final season.

edit: dammit I was looking at his playoff stats. Knew that looked wrong. 667 yards for Peyton.

And people complain about McDaniels? I mean, I know the play got broken but why even get that cute with Sanchize in there?

Surprised they aren’t using Thompson more. AP barreling into a stout line isn’t going to get it done, and Captain Checkdown certainly isn’t going to push it downfield. But forgetting dynamic running backs is tradition in this league.

When was the last time a running back had a 90 yard run, but didn't reach 100 yards?

AP is at 95 yards (his other 7 carries are for 5 yards). This would be an impressive feat if he can hold on.

This coaching staff ruined Chris Thompson for 6 games by running him toward the end of a New Orleans blowout loss that netted broken ribs.

I know I'm in the minority, but I love going for two with a seven point lead. Put the game away.

Stop running out of the shotgun in the red zone. It does not fucking work.
The Eagles! their offense is unstoppable at times and very awkward and ineffective at others. Seems to be largely the shotgun runs that can put them in tough situations down & distance

That’s the second time they’ve called false start when they shouldn’t have. If the center snaps the ball it’s a live play regardless as to whether or not anyone else on offense moves.

I don't mind the shotgun runs as part of their game plan. The RPO that they run is basically built on it, but when you get down into the red zone, and the field shrinks, the shotgun runs (much like a stretch run play) just takes too much time to develop. You have so many defenders packed into a smaller space, and there is just too much speed on the other side of the ball to allow for any time to let those plays work. Of course, every now and again, it'll be the perfect call against the right defense, but by and large, shotgun runs in the red zone get stuffed. If you want to run the ball, get under center and fucking pound it. If you can't do that, then don't bother running it, just get in the shotgun and let Wentz wing it on three straight downs.

McCoy out for the season. Broken fibula.

1. Washington will be answering for its waiver claim by answering questions about Kaepernick.

2. Carnage on offense — 2 QBs, both starting guards, top receiver signed in FA, all to IR. And there’s more. Anyone who whines about injuries should be horsewhipped.

As to #1, I doubt it. They'll be able to point to the fact that Sanchez has a previous history with the coaching staff. They needed a guy who could step in and pick up the offense as quickly as possible in an emergency situation, and they're probably fortunate that a guy like Sanchez was around, given how quickly they had to end up putting him into the fire.

Seriously what are these announcers fucking doing.
I almost never complain about announcers. I can't even name 95% of them even when I'm listening to them, but MNF this year has been almost unwatchable with these guys. It's fucking brutal. When they don't even notice that a quarterback fumbles in a huge situation in the game, and don't even mention it, you know they are way too focused on getting out whatever talking points they have written down in front of them.

They still need a backup after tonight. I am talking prospectively. What’s the excuse now — especially given that Alex Smith’s career could well be over?

MNF is rough

That looked like a forward pass X2, need a better angle to see it.

This game kind of sucks

I guess we'll find out after tonight when they sign someone to replace McCoy's spot. Who knows, going after Kap might be the only way they get the news cycle to leave them alone on the Reuben Foster signing, so it could actually help them in more ways than one.

For me personally, I just want someone to sign Kaepernick, and let him play, so everyone will remember that he and his 59% completion % suck ass, and this story will go away too.

Wentz has regressed. Don’t know if it’s due to the injury or what, but he’s not playing nearly as well as he did last season.

there is a better chance of them signing Tebow than Kaepernick

I have never watched a football broadcast where the announcers talk more about players on other team than they do on the actual game being played.

Everyone forgets the timetable on that surgery. There is one guy on the field tonight who tore it to shreds, but only one. He’s a cyborg.

This is good for the Pats. You want the Eagles in a race till the end, and their schedule is tough.

Yeah, I don't think it's so much that he's regressed, that he rushed back probably a bit too soon. He got hurt almost what, one year ago to the day today? What made him really good last year was his pocket mobility, and ability to improvise and throw on the run. I think he's probably tentative on the knee, afraid of blowing it out again, so he's probably more conscious of anyone or anything around his legs.

For comparison, take a look at Brady in 2009, when he came back from the injury. It was probably his worst season (besides 2013, which had it's own set of problems) going back to 2006. He was getting rid of the ball so quickly that year because of the fear of getting hit that he only got sacked 16 times (his previous low was 21 times in 2007, but before that, it was 26), and then in the years after that, he was sacked 25,32, 27 and 40 times over the next 4 years. He threw more picks in 2009 than in any season from 2005 until now.

I think that's all it is with Wentz. I think he's gotten better even as this season has gone on, and if he stays healthy and comes back strong next year, he'll be right back to where he was.

But you're definitely right, there's only one AP. What was the year he blew out his knee late in the season (the first time?) and made it back in time to start opening day the following season?

Checked all previous 32 games with a 90+ yard individual run, only Herschel Walker did so in 1994. 3 rushes, for 98 yards, 2 TDs, with one going 91 yards. To give some context, the only other game I found even under 110 was Andy Uram of the 1939 Packers, who had a 97-yard touchdown, but only one other rush for 11 yards.

For what it's worth (and I only watched the "Game in 40" version of MNF on NFL Game Pass), I thought Tessitore sounded rather better than he has throughout most of the season, particularly in the first half. He seemed a bit more subdued, in a good way - e.g., not making every 13-yard gain sound like one of the touchdowns of the season.

Back to Wentz, I think his big problem this season is sloppy footwork. It’s a mess, which is understandable seeing as how he couldn’t work on that during his injury downtime. I think he’ll be great long term if he can avoid injury, but he’s playing at an average level so far in this seemingly lost season.
