There was NOBODY open there. I can't even BEGIN to understand the decision making there. If the nose didn't make the pick the LB was going to. Just.. ghastly.

There was no receiver near that unless they ran the old unannounced left guard eligible play

Steelers remaining schedule is really tough and nobody wants to be the 4 seed in the AFC this year when KC or LAC will be the 5. Massive loss.

That's the second week in a row that big lummox threw an INT in the end zone at the end of a game, he got bailed out last week with a defensive penalty.

No such luck this week you stooge.

It’s big. Pats can — and likely will — lose at Pittsburgh and still take the 2 seed if they win out otherwise. That assumes a Pittsburgh loss @ NO.

That was a pretty big loss for the Steelers as far as playoff seeding goes. It’s going to be real tough for the Steelers to get the bye at this point with that schedule. I think the most likely scenario is they finish 3-2 to be 10-5-1 which I don’t think will be enough.

I'm not so sure. Take a look at Houston's remaining schedule: Home vs. Ten/Ind/Jax, Home vs. Cleveland, @NYJ, @Eagles. They could win out without breaking a sweat.

At least one of those division games will make them sweat. At Eagles won’t be easy either. Cleveland is also a tough out.

They won 2 SBs, obviously, but man, that Eli for Rivers trade looks dumber every year.
Really? I get that Rivers is *better*, but teams care about TEAM success.

QB record:
- Eli: 114-110
- Rivers: 113-89

Playoff seasons:
- Giants under Eli: 6
- Chargers under Rivers: 4

Playoff victories:
- Giants: 8 (8-4)
- Chargers: 4 (4-5)

Super Bowl titles:
- Giants: 2
- Chargers: 0

I don't think if you asked anyone running the Giants if they'd rather swap their success under Eli for the Chargers' success under Rivers, that any of them would say yes.

You are right. I keep forgetting about Houston.

Hope for @Eagles in crap weather.

Of course getting to the playoffs will be good. But being the #4 seed - man, you're right. You'll have to host either KC or the Chargers, and then if you win, go on the road to face the other one of those two. Or, if things break right - New England.

Holy cow that won't be easy.

Ben on the INT:

"I never would have thought a defensive lineman would have been blocked that far off the ball. Of all the interceptions I have thrown, that was one of the flukiest."

It would have been picked off by the DB anyway lol.

Does the Miami loss mean the Pats can potentially clinch the division next week?
Not saying it will happen but Miami can still win 10 games. Beating the Dolphins in two weeks could clinch it. Buffalo is still could win it.

He didn't say he had some kind of boo boo that affected his pass attempt?

Even if the NT wasn't there, no Steelers receiver was within several yards of it. And the closest (Brown) was moving away from it.

That was just a terrible pass---I think he must have thought the guard or center was the TE releasing.

It was very similar to the INT he threw against the Pats last year. Forced and ill-advised over the middle on a crossing pattern to Brown.

4th and an inch, sends the punt team out, then takes a time out, coming out of the timeout he sends the offense back out and they get flagged for 12 men on the field. The 3rd down play was close enough he probably should’ve just challenged anyway.

[ x] Burned timeout
[ x] Penalty ruining a 4th down chance
[ x] Receiver gaining major negative YAC
[ x] Receiver running out of bounds
[ x] QB-receiver miscommunication

All in the first 6 minutes or so.

Collinsworth’s fixes on the Bears Defense again.

Chris, it’s this simple. Defense as we all grew up with it is gone. They finally broke it.
