Well, it is Monday. Only a few days away. While nothing is ever guaranteed it is probable that the Patriots draft a QB.

So, SoSH, who do you/we think they draft? I am going to leave this open until Thursday Night. Public vote.

Think: Mason Rudolph with the 43rd overall pick

Hope: Darnold with the 4th overall

Please God No: Mayfield

First choice: Lamar Jackson without having to trade up (or trade up much)

Second choice: Lauletta in the third round

But since I’m used to being disappointed, I’ll guess Logan Woodside In the 4th

Kyle Lauletta, a round before any of the mocks have him going.
+1.

Lamar also a good bet, but they will have to go to 14 at least to get him. He’s not falling to 23 because, again, he does not get beyond Ari/Bal.

It’s more likely Kyle at 23 than Lamar. And if that happens, there is going to be teeth gnashing here. But when there’s a run, there’s a run, and they may not be willing to risk waiting till 31.

This is madness. This would be pure desperation. The appeal of Lauletta is that he's good scheme fit that, because he has limitations, is likely available later. Taking him in the first would be insanity.

Going with "None" for the first 2 rounds. After that, anything is possible, so a spin of the dial says Troy Brown exults when Chase Litton is the pick..

I hope you are right.

If QB mania hits a peak, somebody will fall to 23 who shouldn’t, and if he is a scheme fit, I want the Pats to take that guy.

If QB mania hits a peak, won’t quarterbacks be drafted far above their ‘appropriate' slot and be less likely to drop? If that’s the case, I’d rather the Pats draft an undervalued position player that falls due to the aforementioned ‘mania.'
