Like this post so much.
tough loss, feel bad for the UGA kids
they were the better team for most of the game
3. Notre Dame
Let’s do this! (Sorry Pitt)
UGA is now officially in the vortex of Atlanta sporting suckitude. Excellent.
But I concur with everything said about Hurts - what a fantastic story.
So OU... unless OSU wins by like 30?
Can’t believe we’re getting OU again. This sucks. Big 12 football is such garbage.
I'd rather see it than bama UGA for the tenth time.
I think Ohio State would need to win by 50. Losing to Purdue by 29 looks awful while OU avenged their only loss today.
I don't think even that's enough
Maybe Pitt can make this even more interesting.
So, you like watching non-competitive football games?
Whoever Alabama sees on Jan 7, the game will be nowhere near as interesting or competitive
Alabama and Georgia have only played each other four times since 2008. And frankly, I'd rather see Bama play a team I think can conceivably beat them in the semifinals, even while acknowledging that UGA has no right to be in the playoff at this point. But whatever.
(EDIT: if Clemson and Ohio State both lose, UGA should probably get in at #4, IMHO.)
I despise ou sucks with every fiber of my being but they have the best shot at beating Alabama out of any possible opponent imo.
Clemson - ND might be sneaky good.
That was quick.
Oklahoma? The Oklahoma Sooners? You think they have a better chance than Georgia, or Clemson? Alabama might score 100 on them, without breaking a sweat.
This is gonna be ugly. Clemson wasn’t happy with the way the last game went for the D, so there is some motivation to bounce back from that and I’m afraid Pitt just happens to be next.
There are my Wildcats!
They almost beat Georgia last year. I like seeing non conference! The debate all year is always how these big 12 offenses would fare in the SEC and vice versa and if the pace of the big 10 holds up etc etc. I want to see it in the playoffs. The SEC has their own championship to determine who the best is
Oh Gus Johnson... he just screamed "touchdown Wisconsin!!!" as a Northwestern player streaked down the sideline.
Surprised Ohio State doesn't go for 2. They need to light up the scoreboard tonight.
Umm, show me that immediate recovery?
Wow, if that was a fumble by Northwestern, then I don't know how the one earlier tonight by Fromm wasn't one.
Kirk Herbstreit says UGA should actually be moved up to 3rd after that game. I said it last week. Win or lose there is an argument that both SEC championship game teams deserve to be in the CFP. I don't see much difference between Georgia, Oklahoma, and Ohio State. UGA played the tougher schedule.
He also said UM and OSU were the best teams in the nation back in 2006 and needed a rematch in the championship.
Yeah that wasn't one of his greatest hot takes. But don't you see an avenue where Georgia can still be considered as the 4th team?
I think it's set with OU as the 4th team. It will be interesting to see some of the early SEC bowl games and see how UF and UK perform to get an idea on the strength of the West.
Huge call for the Wildcats on the three.
Gus is getting warmed up.
Close as hell, but I think it was the right call, biased as I may be.
This is not the convincing performance Ohio St needs.
If we’re talking about best teams and not how the committee is going to rank them. I slot them based on who IMO would be favored if they were playing other teams, here’s how I’d rank it.
Tier 1: Bama
Tier 2: Clemson and Georgia
Tier 3: ND, OU, OSU, UCF
This is what I think would happen if these teams played a team up or down a tier. For instance a Clemson v Georgia game would be a pick em and they’d be favored against everyone but Bama.
This OSU team reminds me of the 98 team. Incredibly talented, but lacks the focus to maintain 60 minutes
This is where I'm at. If they're interested in taking the 4 best teams I still think Georgia is one of them. Do I think the committee will see it this way? No I don't.
Someone check on Gus.
He is going to stroke out.
They are doing an excellent job of convincing the Committee they have no business sniffing the playoffs
Might be a lot of purple in Pasadena on January 1.
I think you guys are overrating Ohio State. They basically had one impressive week all season.
LETS GO NW!!!
Fitzgerald is an old school, conservative coach. He's fine punting here and changing the field position. Of course, he wasn't counting on his punter shanking the punt miserably and not changing the field position.
That should do it.
They are very young, next year should be interesting.
They're going to need a QB, no?
This is true, regardless of how this game ends.
Nope, that should do it.
