Why was VT playing AT Old Dominion? They lose a bet or something?
So when does David Shaw get hired as an NFL head coach?
and which team backs up the Brinks truck to get him?
I genuinely feel bad for Oregon fans even though they root for kleptocratic sneaker pimps. They should have been up 31-7, and then they also score the TD on fourth and one (after denying another terribly predictable Shaw play Call on Stanford’s own fourth and 1) to go up 10 with four to play, which ought to seal the deal. That’s a ghastly loss. You just CANNOT fumble with fifty seconds left striving for a first down on SECOND AND TWO.
That is a dagger of a loss.
Shaw should never get an NFL gig. Good at recruiting, pretty good at getting his players up for big games, weak X and Os guy. He’s like Harbaugh in that respect, but weaker.
The most expensive drink voucher in Las Vegas history
He'd probably make a pretty good NFL GM, but yeah coach would be awful
He says he’s old school Stanford through and through - even hates the band! - but my fear would be him getting poached from a bigger program like say Texas, or even Penn State if they have a down year or feel like they have to clean house. Baylor, that type of thing.
more importantly, Stanford only had 1 TO left. just kneel it and they literally will have no time left after a punt on 4th.
It's calls like that where as an AD, your coach directly lost you the game by not being able to manage a basic time situation. You can't can then on the door but how can you ever trust them?
It was genuinely unforgivable. If I was an Oregon fan I’d be absolutely sideways about that and ten other decisions. (And the missed PI in OT although it arguably didn’t make a difference since they still picked up the first.)
Because it’s a major recruiting area for them.
And they’re playing 12 more times, 6 at ODU.
