Yeah I got no little enjoyment out of ruining Rudy's night.
Would have been amazing to end a game in July. But in this situation, just wow. Had to measure it out perfectly and throw a seed.
And why is the right field fence only ~245 feet from home plate?
And why is Bret Gardner's head shaped so weirdly?
Are you kidding me? Ruining Rudy's night is basically a cocaine-fueled night of sex for me.
For those of you killing Vazquez for pitch selection - Kimbrel was throwing NO fastballs for strikes until maybe what - pitch 21 of the inning?
I'm guessing Vazquez realized his command was WAY off when warming off and realized he had to get a curve-ball heavy outing out of him.
The winning hit
The loser crowd
The series champs
Gardner: "They outhit us & they outpitched us & they outplayed us. U have to tip your caps to them. They didnt win 108 games during the season by just being a decent team. They have a really good team over there. I felt like we could beat them & we didn't play our best baseball."
As Michael kay would say..........SEE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's already taking the blows: https://nypost.com/2018/10/10/red-sox-were-just-better-and-now-questions-begin-for-yankees/
(all emphasis mine)
Caption on the lead photo: "Giancarlo Stanton wears a dejected expression in the dugout after striking out twice with two men on in the ninth inning of the Yankees' 4-3 season-ending loss Tuesday night."
And lastly an amazing stat I haven't heard yet:
Or YANKEES LOSE! YANKEES LOSE.....THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES LOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly. Sabathia was a real whiner. Throw strikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The young man is doing the "Dirty Water" thing as best as he can.
Rudy has turned from a good mayor to a Trump kiss butt. The Rudy of the 90's was different.
Dombrowski teams have won the division over the Yankees all 3 years he has been here.
Dombrowski teams have defeated the Yankees in the 06 ALDS, 11 ALDS, 12 ALCS and 18 ALDS (combined playoff record 13-4 vs NYY).
Ayyyyyy @Chad Finn in on the Stanton burn party!
There exists a generation of Red Sox fans that only know beating these fucks.
He should write a how to book on destroying a legacy.
What a fall.
None of the above.
Good starting pitching.
This didn't happen in my sim of the game earlier in the day.
Thanks. See y'all Saturday morning! Actually.... yeah.... is this like regular season and just keep starting threads or do we restart the game threads?
I have texted this to basically everyone I know this morning.
My understanding is that you retain control of the game threads.
I love that they couldn't quite fit all of Gardner's head into frame.
Thank you SoSH! Just spent the last hour reading the last thousand of so posts from the ninth inning on. Amazing roller coaster ride with some true classic posts! I hope everyone is sleeping soundly while I fly to Philly.
Love the Triple Crown of Dirty Water, Series Win and Yankee Elimination Day!
I enjoyed this last night and again this morning while reliving the game thread.
Very well done.
The URL is hilarious.
Hey the comment about the almost housebroken kid peeing "to do the dirty water thing as best he could" was hilarious, I thought. Great way to start the morning after, ty brandanchristenson and mauidano; great pix also for this AM LynnRice and here is a terrific tribute:
LOOK AT THE BIG BRAIN ON BRETTT!
Watching Kinsler’s double over Gardner’s head (think about how hard that ball must have been hit to get it over that orb), the discrepancy between the Red Sox defense and the MFY is striking. Gardner took a circuitous route on that play that would have rivaled the Mayflower in 1620. Totally misplayed that fly. Brutal. Would McCutcheon have done better?
I'm not sure what CC was bitching about, maybe he just needed a Snickers. Looks like two missed strikes (upper right part of the zone) and one called that he didn't deserve (lower left).
Yes. He has the conn
Just got about 20 dirty looks on my E train ride to work wearing my Sox hat. Bunch of glum faces. Lol boohoo
Got 20 dirty looks and hoped for 50.
It occurs to me...the Yankees got to live out their own version of "Green Fields of the Mind" in the 9th. Dame Mutability 1, MFY 0. Delicious.
No doubt his Mother had to let out one side of all his hats when he was a kid, that dome is other worldly.
Love how that stooge butchered that ball Kinsler hit, fuck him.
I actually think that’s what he was trying to say. He gets “no little enjoyment”—meaning he gets “big enjoyment”.
we get to watch a Red Sox game on Saturday night
That’s the face of a man experiencing his first playoff series win (Sale). Great pic!
You know, it’s probably a topic for a different thread but you’re right and it’s apparent in conversations between generations. The older fans have this weird negative, irrationally worrisome perspective.
I noticed he didn't get those two call during the game. The reason probably being, and Darling pointed this out at the time of one of them, was that Sanchez set up low and inside and he hit the total opposite part of the strike zone. Sanchez had to come up out of his crouch and reach for both of those pitches which probably affected Hernandez's view of the pitch.
Once again, while Anderson is your garden variety PBP guy, Darling, for all his flaws (mainly his affiliation with the '86 White Lines Brigade) is a great color guy. He says a lot of stupid stuff too but his insights into pitching are pretty damn good.
It's pretty easy to calculate:
ㅎㅎㅎ 전 심장 터지는줄...
Wow, Brian Quinn from Impractical Jokers scored a nice seat dead center in the middle picture...…..
Or he was imitating our closer at that particular time.
Glad they both got cleaned up.
In a lot of ways, he is Randy Johnson 2.0.
Edit: moved to another thread
The Arod = choker serves 2 purposes for the Yankee Fan
1. Elevates the already grossly over-rated Jeter.
2. Allows them to hide the fact his HGH fueled bat carried them to #27
They even have commemorative 09 merch with team pics omitting him. He had 6hr and 18 rbi in the 09 post season.
Baseball sure is unpredictable, eh?
Sale never called the Yankees his Daddy, did he?
