This can't be overstated; I was fuming over that trade.

Now I'm laughing my ass off over it; good luck gashouse gorillas, you're stuck with him now.

6-9 and the BP (ex Kimbrel) win this game. Baseball is humbling

You would have thought they were going to dominate the next 2 games with the shit being written.

Man - an infuriating end of the game for me.

Sanchez came up, bases loaded...one out. My youngest son, who is FOUR, and who is NAKED because he PISSED ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE TOILET HOURS EARLIER (and we're too lazy to change him) and who has been POTTY TRAINED FOR TWO YEARS....

Joins me on my favorite chair watching the game...sits behind me...and then I feel a tickle behind me. Something running down my back and into my underwear. I think it's his finger and I try to bat it away, and instead of hitting a hand or finger, I hit warm PISS.

THE MOTHER FUCKER PISSES ALL OVER ME AND MY CHAIR.

So while Gary is hitting a sac fly, and as SOSH melts down, I'm up and shrieking and screaming at my kid about pissing on me. He starts crying, I throw him in the tub and am furiously trying to clean up as the game plays out and I'm drenched in piss.

I got to see the final out as my kid howled from the bath tub.

    Fuck.

Also, Red Sox, Celtics, Pats all advanced to at least the final four.

Also, the four pro franchises in Boston spot New York an additional five teams and still are better in every sport.

Also I said this before but I was looking at B-Ref and I don’t think CV ever hit an oppo HR before. Is that right?

This interests me because I can't even watch him, I record it and watch when it's done. He was the worst pitcher on the Sox tonight.
The win was a matter of inches.

Pitch of the game was the 3-2 to Sanchez. He had to throw a strike there. Ball four changes everything. Sanchez crushed it at a 107 mph exit velocity but he got under it at 46 degrees. Game of millimeters I guess. That was the ballgame.

The Sanchez ball would have carried another 12 feet if it was pre-2004.

I’m sure they’ll be fine with their all time HR record instead.

Are we sure this wasn’t a Yankee pitcher given the aim?

Man, Sale vs. Verlander on Saturday at Fenway Park. That's pretty fucking fun right there. Houston may be the favorites in a lot of people's eyes but these guys fucking compete their asses off.

Kimbrel very nearly entered John McNamaraville, population 2. Would have been tough to live down.

Exactly. This was Kimbrel’s problem. He wanted to strike out the side instead of throwing strikes and trusting his teammates to get the outs. Porcello had one strikeout, right? But only gave up one run.

Kimbrel needs to calm down if they’re going to beat Houston.

Didn't Crisp do something similar in a world series winning year? Injured on the final play?

Am I the only one that STILL hasnt watched that inning. I followed it on line. I still cant breath. Off to watch the DVR in a few minutes. As everyone is saying, that is a game we always lost. We are now the Yankees, the Yankees are now us. 2004 and this series and this century have buried last century. Now, they are just another team, a GREAT rival, a great team, but now THEY get to look for the sword of damocles to always fall on their fucking heads.

Sometimes the measure of a great player is what he does when his back is against the wall. He couldn’t find the zone but had to throw Sanchez a strike. He did it.

Mookie went 3-16 with 2 RBI (both coming in our 16 run game.) Holt outhit both guys.

Look at it this way, without Jeters gift the Yankees might have went after JDM who had 6 RBI which were the difference maker in 2 of the 3 Wins. Thats more important than Stantons line

Still--you gotta admit, after that 9th the Yanks currently have the momentum.
