Mostly everything will stay the same as last year but I do have a few issues/opinions that need to be addressed.

1. Someone brought up making majors double points since its double the pay out. How does everyone feel about that? I think we always try to model this after the PGA tour so while majors are good payouts I don't believe they are double fedex cup points or anything like that.

2. Add/drop. Do we want to keep it? It seems like its a pain but then again if someone gets injured I feel like you should have the right to switch them mid season.

3. The Zurich Open is now a team event. Should we a) keep it, and give points to each player on a team, b) replace it with the tournament in Phoenix, or C) Get rid of it all together and have $250 go to the winner.

Personally, I wouldn't mind keeping it as I think it would be interesting to see people root for other players to help out there team but I can see how people wouldn't like that. The purse is 7 million so I don't think it will become a B event for pros...but I'm willing to listen to people.

Here are the list of people in the league. As always we keep it to 20.

DOTB - PAID
Zomp - PAID
LeonTrotsky - PAID
BostonBeerBelly - PAID
BMHH - PAID
AirborneSAS - PAID
Jkelley34 - PAID
4 6 3 DP - PAID
BigMike - PAID

LupeWhalewatch - PAID
Teddykgb - PAID
VegasSox Fan - PAID
dan1864 - PAID
DaveStapleton - PAID

FL4WL3SS
Average Reds - PAID

That's 19 but we had someone in the other thread express interest. They'll get first dibs. I'll be private messaging everyone the paypal to send the cash to and to see if everyone is in again.

Please let me know your thoughts on the 3 items above and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pay in a timely manner as we should be drafting by the weekend, beginning of next week the latest.

In. Responses to the 3 open items:

1. I would keep as is.
2. Keep the Add/Drop
3. I'd be in favor of replacing with another event, since we don't know how this would work in practice.

Looking forward to this again this year.

The only viable event I could see replacing it with is the tournament in Phoenix which is the week before Pebble Beach.

1. Keep it as is. The tour does give more FedEx points out in majors, but it's not double. Winner gets 600 points as opposed to 500 for normal events. 2nd place is 330 vs 300. It's not really a significant change.

2. Keep it, mostly for replacing injured guys. The only other way would be to have some sort of system where injured players can be dropped at any time. That seems too complicated though.

3. I'm fine with whatever the group feels is best. Zurich is 2 weeks before The Players. Maybe roll the $50 weekly payout to The Players, since it's essentially the 5th major? Adding Phoenix would be fine too, that always a fun tournament.

Whatever the majority wants as I am new to the league.
I do think the first two should be kept as is.

For Add/Drop, I think on average only half the group adds someone and we spend the majority of the time waiting for people to say pass. Maybe there should be a deadline by which you have to PM to Zomp a list of 5 guys in order you would like to add. Then he (or anyone else) can review each list in reverse standings order and add one of your guys if they are available.

I've mentioned the imbalance of total points available for the Match Play event each of the last 3 years, so I will leave that alone.

Andy Brickley's potty mouth
Can we modify the Add/Drop date and/or have multiple Add/Drop windows? Since teams are only 8 deep, having one guy get hurt can torpedo a season and it really sucks that there are no options for fixing that. In any other fantasy league, you can immediately drop and add another player. Having someone get hurt in the first even and then having to wait several months to drop them doesn't seem right.

I am in for adding Phoenix - editing my original post. I also understand Flawless' point about the add/drop - I luckily have never experienced it, but can see how frustrating it may be. Not sure of a way to fix it though other than an open add/drop for injured players only, not one's who suck.

If we're gonna fit the Phoenix tourney in - we're going to need to hustle through the draft.

Last year we started on 1/12 and ended on 2/1. Phoenix starts on 2/2. I'll probably start it on Friday (just to give some people that haven't responded yet whether they are in or not). This year I'll be a bit more vigilant on following up with people. I'll ask for everyone's cell phone number and proxy picks when the time is right. We should finish in time.

********Can everyone do their best to pay by Friday. If there is an issue, just PM me or Four Peters just so we know you're in and will pay

I'll post a list tomorrow of who is paid so far - getting a lot of PayPals so far, I appreciate it.

In the interest of times, I'd suggest not changing any rules/point structures other than adding the Waste Management.

Thanks for handling this so well guys - I think we should be able to get this done in 15 days for drafting purposes.

Time to start to make my 2017 spreadsheet of players.

No one has prior year's data do they?

I am trying to compile a history of this and so far

I have
2016/2015/2014 - amount won per player
2016 points

I am missing
2013 - amount won per player (have 2 people)
2013/2014/2015 - final year end points

2016 - 15/20 won money
2015 - 16/20 won money
2014 - 16/20 won money

Total amount won is skewed a bit by the extra $500 JohnMD kicked in to the champion in 2015. But without 2013 data - Vegas is the biggest winner for 4 years combined.

We have never had a repeat winner.
2013 - BBB
2014 - CShea
2015 - Vegas
2016 - Leon

It has never been won with less than 300 points and multiple years more than 1 person have scored 300+.

Found 2013 final year end data.
Found $1492 out of $2200 total payout dollars for 2013

Total points scored with 22 players in 2013 - 4639
Total points scored with 20 players in 2016 - 4574

Leon scored 129 points in the first year and won it in year 4 with I believe the highest point total of 327 drafting out of spot 8.

2016 - Draft spot 8 wins
2015 - Draft spot 2 wins
2014 - Draft spot 5 wins
2013 - Not sure what spot I drafted

So nobody is going to respond to my request for a modification to the add/drop process?

Should be an easy decision point and vote, I think it's worth exploring.
I replied an open add/drop for injured players only would be fine. Others replied they wanted no changes.

So far it seems like mostly everyone wants to keep add/drop the way it is. A few others seem indifferent. I think having multiple add drops is going to get complicated for scoring purposes. Looks like we'll just keep it the way it is.

Flaw how many of your golfers got injured last year? 6?

I was just saying that someone responded, that's all.

My vote is to keep it as is, but if we want to put it up to a vote, that's fine.
