You guys definitely deserve to feel good after Ross's statement - congrats, and for the first time in a very, very long time, I envy you!

It's been a pretty shitty exsistence as a Dolphins fan. Much of the time it's been one embarrassment after another...so it feels good for once to be able to say that I'm proud to be a fan of this team.
It's already felt like things were getting back on track with Gase, but now Ross has put it over the top.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. They could still lose to the Jets.;)

The double whammy at the moment.
Losing and they're killing my daily fantasy teams with this performance thus far.

I blame myself for saying I was proud to be a Fins fan for once.

LOL, this team is just bad. play calling was atrocious last week and actually worse this week. Jets have 8 or NINE in the box on first or second down. The strength of the team is the WRs and they can't make a play. Oakland had two WRs with 8+ catches

whatever, it is what it is. Lose this game and you can basically eliminate 9 wins given the schedule

Just when you start to have the slightest inkling of confidence in this team, they lay a complete egg in the first half. Straight awful on both sides of the ball against a bad team.

Not looking forward to re-watching this one, but I will, at some point. At first watch, it looked as though the Jets had 8 in the box often early on, like you mentioned.

I thought this was a main issue in the 1st half. Despite the Jets daring the Fins to throw the ball, Gase continued the run Ajayi into a stone wall. Miami's success in the past has come off establishing the run early and working off of that; New York wasn't going to let that happen today.

While I wanted Gase to open up the offense much, much earlier, once he did, Cutler looked off, though his receivers didn't do him many favors. There wasn't a lot of separation and passes were bobbled, dropped. At least 1-2 seemed to be lost in the sun. Cutler may not be as far a long with his comeback as we were lead to believe.

And/or this team expected to show up and win and laid a total egg. Jets intensity was vastly superior after their 1st offensive series, and it was never matched after that point. Very disappointing.

Edit: To include this:

I think Miami got too confident. They assumed they could roll in to NY and just steamroll the Jets because they are bad and they’re punting the season.

I would say every unit besides the DLine looked absolutely terrible. DLine got a few sacks and generally bottled up the run. Coverage sucked, especially the LBs. Teams are going to continue throwing right at Hull and Alonso until they prove they can do something to stop it. Drew Brees is going to eat this defense alive.

Offensive struggles started up front. Miami got no push. Too often Ajayi was getting hit behind the LOS. I don’t know if Cutler has the freedom to check out of a run, but if teams are going to stack 8 or 9 in the box, Miami needs to keep them honest.

I think this is very possible, once again reminding us how important the mental side of the game can be. Any time another team punches you in the face, and you just lie down, it's on everyone -- the players and coaches. For some reason, Miami got comfortable, and it's on the HC, especially, not to let that happen.

Aside from the overall effort and execution being shit, the CB issue (Maxwell) is a problem. He's routinely 5 yards off his guy. It was pitch and catch against him all day yesterday, which wasn't much different than the previous week. Sure, Verner got toasted, too; but 1:1 press with no safety help on your first play of the year isn't an ideal situation.

All this said, it's 1 game. The first quarter and/or half of the season, teams are figuring shit out. That's why week to week, the results can be so weird and unexpected.

I'm not sure what to expect next week in London. But I think a win is just possible as a loss.

Yeah, they definitely have way too much talent to take lightly, on both sides of the ball. I assume this was a blip and Miami will be up for the Pats and give NE all it can handle.

Lawrence Timmons will be playing Sunday morning against the Saints.

Can't help but wonder if a hint of desperation influenced this decision. I was cool with the Dolphins inviting Timmons back after a sufficient period of repentance (whatever the team deemed that to be), but the story of him going back to Pittsburgh had me rethinking things.

Anyway, let's hope he can make an impact. At this point, it's probably the best path toward his redemption. We need every bit of a boost we can get.

Byron Maxwell not just benched, but inactive. Miami starting Xavien Howard and Cordrea Tankersley, who was inactive the first two games.

Edit: apparently it might be health related.

Man did the NFL shove it up the Dolphins ass with travel.
Pats get it in about a month. Denver to Mexico City in 6 days, though at least there's no massive time zone issue like with Miami. Though the Pats' opponents are far more daunting (Denver and Oakland).

Its more than that though. They've been on the road, essentially, for a month plus. Sort of a killer for a 7-8 win talent team

Lol. Come on. This team is dead. Tank time. All three AFC east teams basically playing for draft picks by week 3.

When you are at cap and little core to build off of, it's likely time to think of massive rebuild. Wake, Suh, jones Timmons, Alonso etc.

Especially sad how bad tunsil is. Guy was supposed to be anchor and is mediocre. And pouncey is terrible. He's likely done

West coast coast for a week to east coast for a week to London and Miami finally gets a home game. Miami opted to not take the bye after the London trip. Boy would that have looked good now.

No words to describe how poorly they’ve played on offense for two straight weeks against two bad teams. Too many times Miami is lining up in a trips formation, there’s 6 or 7 men on the line, and they run it straight into a wall on third and short. Yo, audible that shit.

Pretty much everything stinks. Play calling, blocking, execution. They stink.

If I was Matt Moore I'd be pissed.
Not saying that I think they'd magically be better with him (I've always argued against him as a full time starter), but just on a personal level, for him to be passed over and have to just stand there watching this shitshow must be infuriating beyond all belief.

Well, then you lose a home game, because they would’ve made the Dolphins play the Bucs on a neutral field Week 1 if both teams didn’t have the bye week. Time will tell how that plays out.

More generally, however, it’s terrible that the NFL doesn’t schedule byes across the board for teams the week after they play in London. I think the league will need to change that just to get teams to keep agreeing to play in London.

Gase said in his presser today that Cordrea Tankersley is the starter moving forward. I actually thought he looked decent, epecially considering the circumstances. From what it seems like, Maxwell hurt himself warming up and Tankersley was thrust into the lineup.

He’s a guy that seemed to play well in the preseason. I’m sure he’ll take his lumps, but the game didn’t look to big for him yesterday. That’s a good start.

I swear I’m going to pull my hair out.

Miami is having success running the ball, so what does Gase dial up? A wildcat rollout with Marquis Gray throwing it. Instantly stalled the drive. Someone take the play sheet away from Gase.

I can see why Bears fans hate Cutler. HE's a losing player. Looks great in practice when he knows no one can touch him. Put him in a game and he folds up instantly, bad decision, check down, etc. HE was significantly better than RT in practice, so much so that the players were provately saying he's the best QB they've played under, etc. Then in games? He's bad. Very bad.

You have to start rooting for them to lose out, there's no point in playing this out. Get a high draft pick, hopefully draft a good qb and start over.

Who would have think that Miami’s defense would be really good this year and their offense would be their downfall?

An ugly win is still a win, but nothing on offense seemed to work. Cutler takes a fair amount of heat, but players were also dropping catchable balls. Julius Thomas, Gray, Stills, and Grant all dropped balls they got their hands on.
