Clemson loses to Syracuse and only drops three spots. Da fuck?
Where are you seeing that? AP has Clemson down to #7. I still think they make the playoff if they win out the remainder of schedule and win the ACC title game. They will likely need some help, though (e.g., TCU dropping a road game or Penn St. getting tripped up vs. OSU or Michigan). Despite the SYR loss, I still think Clemson is one of the top 3 teams in the country--probably top two--but I’m biased.

Must've been a wrong poll on Twitter, my bad.

And agreed - that lose probably doesn't hurt them whatsoever. Assuming they win out, they're definitely in the Final 4.

I fucking hate the Big 12's flex scheduling. It makes it impossible to schedule around games when you don't know what time kickoff will be until a week out.

That said, these games finally have announced kickoffs (times Eastern):

Kansas at (6) TCU - 8:00 PM
(12) Oklahoma at Kansas State - 4:00 PM
(14) Oklahoma State at Texas - 12:00 PM

The Big Ten only allows 12 days notice instead of 6 days like the Big 12. Of course, you could go independent and know all the start times are set in stone by around Memorial Day.

Kansas at TCU gets primetime? who even wants to watch that?
I think they're ceding Saturday night to NBC and ABC. Snuff film enthusiasts will relish seeing KU in prime time on broadcast television though.

Yeah, I'm actually ok with that from a pure tv perspective. You can only have so many marquee games at one time before you hit diminishing returns. The conference powers that be know which games will draw the most eyeballs (hint: it's the two earlier games).

It’s not unusual for the UCF Knights to see coach Scott Frost in cleats taking special teams reps with the team on Fridays.

That’s just a benefit of having a relatively young coach who is still in playing shape. But this week Frost is stepping it up and lining up as the scout quarterback in order to give his defense the best look at what it will be living facing with Navy’s triple-option offense and standout quarterback Zach Abey.

Third Saturday in October <3

Looking forward to seeing Butch Jones get fired at halftime.
Indeed. Will be watching on delay due to a double shift at work, but when you consider the slump the Vols are on, Butch Jones clearly on the way out, and the way this Tide team is trending? I can't wait to dig in. Probably my second favorite annual matchup of the year, just behind the Brag Bowl.

Think you're being a bit of a pessimist on his point of firing. Why not by the end of the first, or heck, first series? Also think the Vegas spread is a low, given just how inept that offense has been. Who do they have that can keep up with the battle in the trenches that is Tuscaloosa's best battering ram? He won't, but would love to see Saban encourage the men in Crimson to 70 on these guys if at all possible.

Not much else appeals to me this week SEC wise but Michigan/Penn State and USC/Notre Dame seem like a fine way to spend a weekday afternoon when the opportunity is right for some good old fashioned film room reviews.

Going to be tough to fire Butch Jones with the implementation of the new early signing period. He has a top ten class coming in.

Texas D fought hard. The offense did not. Brutal team to be a fan of, it seems. They find a way to kick you guys in the nuts almost every week.

Let's not let Brandon Jones off the hook. For the second week in a row, he gave up a huge play late in the game which directly led to a loss. He's officially on the lead pipe list.

2nd and 4 on the 7, lets roll out the QB for a lateral pass then roll out the other way on a screen.

I’d be fine if Tim Beck lost the ability to speak.

Penn State is not a typical Big Ten offense. Run it, throw it, uptempo. 14-0 three minutes into the Michigan game.

Michigan back in it after an interception and long drive by the offense. On the three as first quarter ends.

Nits up 21-13 at the half. Pretty good effort by Michigan to get back in this, on the road. O'Korn is taking charge of his offense.

Ohio State scouts seeing a lot of the PSU offense tonight. It's mostly a two-man show. Barkley has three TDs and McSorley two. Nits up 35-13 early in fourth quarter.

I'm not sure how much scouting they were able to do. PSU did not have to break a sweat against a really bad Michigan Prime team.

DaeShawn Hamilton also came up big a few times and the strength of the team may be there defense. I don't think it's a secret to anyone that Barkley is a huge part of their offense.. the problem comes in stopping him as PSU uses him in so many different ways.

Yes, Hamilton made some great catches over the shoulder. This is the kid who dropped a game-winning TD pass against Pitt last year. Nits have a lot of weapons and the defense is very good. But the real test comes Saturday afternoon in Columbus.
It's one thing to win a big game at home. Quite another to beat a Top 6 team in their backyard. Plus, the Buckeyes are still pissed about last year.

Most definitely next week against OSU is the biggest game of the year for PSU...and then they have to make sure not to let down against MSU if they win.
