Belichick on perception Jets aren't competitive: "I don’t know what games they are watching. Maybe it’s fantasy football or some garbage."
Rat poison.

Some reporter wanted to go with a premade 'Patriots prefer to win ugly' narrative:Not sure what the question was, but BB responded with "Well, we prefer to win" then a disdainful little shake of head.
Hysterical.Reporter, despondently: "you're good."
BB: "...you're the best."
RO posted in the "Celebrating What Is" thread last night:http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/bill-belichick-has-belichickian-response-to-question-about-retiring/ar-BBEJrP7?li=BBnba9I&ocid=DELLDHP17
Hell of a way to find out about an upcoming documentary about the "two Bills", which I somehow missed.
30 for 30 on BB and Parcells coming in the winter.

If you haven't watched the trailer, do it. There is a great reveal about that splitscreen they keep showing.http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/bill-belichick-has-belichickian-response-to-question-about-retiring/ar-BBEJrP7?li=BBnba9I&ocid=DELLDHP17

DDB, you mentioned this happened on today's conference call -- do the Pats post the recordings of these calls anywhere?I don't have the exact quote but today's conference call was actually pretty good and he was in a good mood. He got asked a question about the Gronk catch/no catch. It was actually a pretty good question -- about the extent to which he takes the player's report into account with respect to whether he challenges or not. But the interesting part of the answer was that he brought up one of his old favorites -- goal line or pylon cameras. He mentioned how it didn't change the game last night but that if you have a play like that at the end of a game it is important to get it right. After which he added, in a way so dry that it took me a while to realize that it was a dig, "maybe the league can figure out a way to finance that."
Also, you can listen on Mondays on patriots.com under "audio".DDB, you mentioned this happened on today's conference call -- do the Pats post the recordings of these calls anywhere?
Nice tip, thanks.Search for and subscribe to "Patriots Player & Coach Audio" on your favorite podcast app. You will not be disappointed.
He also answered the same question with an instant classic deadpan:When asked why he didn't take out Brady once the game got "out of hand": “It’s easy for you to sit there and say the game’s out of hand. If you watch games in the National Football League, a lot can change in a hurry.”
Didn't he have pretty much the exact same response during training camp?Question to Bill Belichick: "With all you have accomplished in your coaching career, what is left that you still want to accomplish?" Belichick's answer: "I'd like to go out and have a good practice today. That would be at the top of the list right now."
Yep, that quote is from about six month ago if I’m not mistaken. Though it’s a good’n.Didn't he have pretty much the exact same response during training camp?
It's been tweeted by a few people in the last couple of days and recently got picked up by /r/nfl. I think it's just so good that it's had staying / comeback power. Because it is an old quote, unless he repeated it recently.Huh. It just got retweeted other day by Schefter. But Twitter is probably messing with the feed algorithm and I didn’t pay attention to date.
See post #1 of this thread. Question/answer are exactly the same wording.Because it is an old quote, unless he repeated it recently.
This is my new favorite. I'm going to drop that in some meetings at work.“That’s a lot of pronouns there.”
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21891340/new-england-patriots-coach-bill-belichick-say-intel-heart-james-harrison-signingOne line of thinking is that the New England Patriots signed free-agent outside linebacker James Harrison, in part, to gain Pittsburgh Steelers-based intelligence that could help the team. Bill Belichick didn't care to engage that topic.
"We're playing the Jets this week. I don't even know what that has to do with it," he said in his Wednesday morning news conference. "Maybe I'm missing something, I don't know."
Told it was specific to the Steelers, and a possible playoff matchup, Belichick repeated, "We're playing the Jets this week."
...
What are your thoughts on his career?
"Good," he replied.
...
Asked how important that meeting was prior to signing Harrison, Belichick said, "It's always good to meet somebody."
