Miguel had a tweet yesterday predicting the numbers and he had a similar prediction that years 3 and 4 would basically be team options (saving $8M in year 3 and even more in 4 if he were cut). I was going to post it here but thought it was too good to be true. What an incredible deal. I think a lot of us would've been fine with DH coming back on the franchise tag, and Bill goes and gets him for 4 years for only like $5M more in guaranteed money than the tag would've given him in 1 year.

According to MMQB's Albert Breer, the Jets pulled their offer to Dont'a Hightower due to concerns over his physical.

Per ESPN's Rich Cimini, the Jets were offering Hightower five years at $55 million with a max value of $62.5 million. The annual salary is similar to what the Patriots gave him but the Jets offered one more year. Obviously the Jets weren't convinced that he could stay healthy. Despite injury concerns, the 27-year-old has emerged as one of the most complete linebackers in football and saved New England's season with a huge strip sack of Matt Ryan in Super Bowl LI.

The only place this could have come from was the Jets, the team getting roundly crushed for their cupcakes-and-gear approach to wooing Hightower. I imagine agents around the league will keep this in mind the next time the Jets ask a player to take a physical.
