Terrible goal given up by Benfica's keeper. Never trust a keeper with floppy hair.

not really an edit: Announcers are saying it should be an own goal because the keeper caught it in play and then brought it into the goal

Something is wrong with Atletico. Well, the first diagnosis is easy: Koke and Carrasco, two of the team's top players, are out. Then, the transfer ban is also harming the team's quality: Costa and Vitolo are needed.

But there is something wrong with the squad regardless of who is on the pitch. Gabi seems lost. Correa and Gameiro cannot put two passes or plays together. Griezmann looks like a man on an island. Their is no flow to the offense and no speed to moving the ball up the pitch.

Nobody watching CL tonight?

It´s already halftime. Highlights include:
-Benfica´s 18yo keeper Svilar saved Martials penalty and now got another (after 1st leg mistake) "unlucky" goal, when the Matics shot hit the post and bounced of the guy into the net.
-Qarabaq leads 0-1 at Atleti. WOW!
-Roma leads Chelsea 2-0. Rüdiger was sleeping on the 2nd goal.
-Sporting leads Juve 1-0. I think it was Chiellini (#3) who was looking really bad on the goal.
-Basels 1-0 (vs.CSKA) was easy looking. A shot from about 20m into the empty net over the keeper and several players. But that goal needed real skill for that volley.
-Bayern leads 1-0 at Celtic. Coman after a long ball from Ulreich. He might have touched the ball with the hand after it bounced, was really hard to see even after 4 slowmos.

What a disaster. A miracle goal from Thomas--Thomas, the midfielder!--managed to put Atletico in the game, but the team was incapable of generating a good second chance. I think Simeone made a mistake going with Torres instead of Vietto.

I'm at work following it on ESPNFC and caught the goal on Twitter. Terrific, high class goal that is evidence of Spurs playing at a world class level and ready to beat anyone in Europe. Best was seeing all the Madrid fans harping on Twitter about offsides!

I twas a great goal, even if Tripper was offside. But Tripperonaldo has had a lot of success storming down the right, he just dusted Marcelo with two stepovers.

2-0 Spurs. Which is a good thing cuz pretty sure Lloris will need to come out. Toby went out with a hammy in first half.

Madrid lost to Girona this weekend and are now eight points behind Barcelona in La Liga, so this could end up being a very rough week for them.

This is fun! 3-0

What makes it fun is that Spurs are clearly the better team. In all facets. RM's defense is poor, their passing is poor. Spurs are the better team. I hope they continue to prove it this year.

The EPL is having a pretty epic season in Europe. Well, except for Everton.

Spurs game was glorious. Real should be hoping Spurs don’t poach their players for bench strength, not the other way around.

If Spurs beat Apoel at Wembley, they will win the group, regardless of what they do in Dortmund, since they now have the H2H tiebreaker over Madrid.

I realize I need to get over myself for this, but I'm getting really fucking sick of seeing Karius's stupid face in the CL.

Maribor go down 1-0 to Spartak in the 82nd minute - and level 1-1 in the first minute of added time.

Big break for Liverpool as they are still top of the group, and at worst second after this match day.

The two Liverpool goals have been essentially carbon copies of each other - goal one, Wijnaldum wins the corner ball across the goal to Firmino for a relative tap-in. Goal two, only difference was Firmino winning it to Mané and the finish being with a low header into the far corner.

Firmino with some outstanding cheesing on this goal, looking back towards midfield with the tap-in

Spurs with 2 second half goals, lead on the road at Dortmund. If that holds, Spurs win group.
