Jason Day has apparently jumped to Nike Apparel. I thought the TM guys were locked into Adidas. I can't think of another TM player with different apparel deal.

They haven't sold it yet, but are actively trying to, so I'm sure it's tied into that in some way.

Anxious to see what happens to his other sponsors. I don't believe Nike allows any other logos, so RBC, Lexus and Concur won't be on his shirt anymore.

TM has a huge stable of golfers; many of them don't wear Adidas/Ashworth apparel. Martin Kaymer off the top of my head has a Hugo Boss line. Now, certainly in reverse, it's less common for an adidas apparel player to use other clubs, but certainly there's Furyk, who plays Callaways.

I think I have read that Day's contracts were separate, and his apparel contract runs out at the end of the year.

Furyk only wears Adidas shoes, his apparel deal is with AHead. Of course, he's a whore, so he probably has a separate deal for his belt as well.

And there was a report Thursday which I didn't see that there are rumors that Tiger may be part of a group making a bid for TM:

http://thegolfnewsnet.com/golfnewsnetteam/2016/09/16/rumor-tiger-woods-part-group-buying-taylormade-golf-97601/

We all know adidas AG has put TaylorMade Golf, Adams Golf, Ashworth, Yes and pretty much its entire golf portfolio up for sale. We at Golf News Net also know adidas is close to identifying a TaylorMade buyer, and we've been told that a pair of American private equity groups are among the finalists.

On Thursday, however, a rumor that we hadn't heard made us consider an amazing possibility. Rick Young of Score Golf in Canada (and previous co-host of our "Gear Effects" podcast) tweeted that Tiger Woods is rumored to be a potential buyer for TaylorMade Golf.
I'm not familiar with Young so take that for what it's worth.

Looks like Rob Oppenheim has to do some work in the last two events of the web.com finals to retain his full PGA card for 2017. He missed the cut in his fist event and and finished T24 in the second of four for about $8,000. Last year it took $3x,000 over the four events to get into the top 25, so he'll need at least one high finish (or two around top 20ish) in the remaining two tournaments to get in. He does have conditional status locked up by virtue of his T10 at the Quicken this year.

TC coming down to the last hole. Rory, Moore and Chappell are tied at -12. Moore and Rory and in the clubhouse, Chappell has a putt for the win. The $10 million is down to DJ and Rory. DJ needs Moore or Chappell to win.

Brutal putt by Chappell, they're going to extras.

Rob is in 26th now heading into the last event after finishing T12 today.

Rory appears to have just won the TC and FedEx Cup. He's got a 6 footer for Eagle, Moore and Chappell hit poor drives and had to lay up.

Bad time for him to figure things out and get hot.

You gotta call that what it was. Those greens are perfect, and that was a nearly dead straight six footer.

Rory's length is still a huge advantage going back to 18th tee.

It's a shitload of money either way, but I don't know where he came up with $13 million. $10 mil for the FedEx win and $1.5 mil tournament win.

They don't publicly disclose them of course, but it's my understanding that companies like Nike pay additional performance bonuses; I wouldn't be surprised to learn he gets a million each for the Tour Championship and the Playoffs.

That makes sense.

That was a pretty absurd shot by Rory. He's got the advantage again.
That was way more impressive than his 2nd shot on the first playoff hole. So much could go wrong there and he hit a perfect shot.

Incredible last 4 hours of (commercial free golf). Phenomenal stuff from both Rory and Moore that has me really jacked up for the Ryder Cup. Great match play feel there.

Wonder if that was enough for Moore to grab the last captain's pick. Turning down the practice trip to Hazeltine may have taken him out of the running though.

I was wondering what would have been a better outcome for the US Team next week. Rory coming off a tough loss or him potentially drinking himself into a coma after he wins.

I love how jack waits until Arnie dies to finally show his true feelings and compassion for him. He's such a dick.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this thought cross his mind during this. His comments at the Masters still piss me off. I was surprised he didn't find a way to make this about himself.

And just to pile on Jack, wtf was he doing at the Pats game Sunday instead of being at Hazeltine? A friend of mine met him there and sent me this pic

He was there earlier in the week and said that he was trying to stay away from the cameras so as not to be a distraction.

Still kind of a dick, though.

It does suck, but as I noted above, he does have conditional status via his top 10 at the Quicken. So, not the end of the world, just much less comfortable in terms of planning his schedule.
