Real live 2016 golf is on the Golf Channel. Woohoo.

When you win something called the "Tournament of Champions" by 8 strokes, after announcers were saying you were "struggling a little" on Thursday, you might be special.

You also might be Jordan Spieth.

Apologies if this has been discussed previously, but does anyone subscribe to PGA Tour Live, and if so, what does it get you? The cost is fairly minimal ($40 for the year), so I am likely to give it a chance unless someone can tell me it is doesn't provide anything I can't already get from streaming the the Golf Channel.

I have it. The main thing it provides is streaming coverage of the early groups on Thursday and Friday for the tournaments, before the golf channel (or whatever network is covering that particular week) goes on air. My gripe is that the stream stops when the TV coverage stops, but I still think it is worth it. It allows you to watch the star players round that would traditionally be blacked out and before the TV coverage.

Boo Weekley is 3 years older than Jason Dufner. They look about 20 years apart.

Mr. Oppenheim sitting on top of the leaderboard at -4 through 9 holes. He's playing the much, much easier of the two courses today, as I just said in the other thread, so he needs to go low to stay in contention tomorrow.

Rob is in at -5, 1 shot behind the leaders. Awesome start.
He jacked a 3 foot putt on the last hole too, should be at -6.

Edit: And he's getting interviewed on the Golf Channel now...good for him.

Rob's getting some good air time here as he finishes his round. Nice shout out from Gannon, but Faldo seemed like he had no idea who the hell he was. Rob's E for the day through 15. 4 back of the lead. Right in the mix.

Weather is supposed to be bad over the weekend.

Didn't get a chance to watch a minute of it today, due to work conflicts, etc., but I followed along and wow, thank God for his iron game today. I don't think he hit 5 fairways. Considering how hard that course is playing, to even get in at -1 for the day with such horrible tee ball work is really nice. He's missed two short ones in two days, which is so unlike him, or else he'd be right there. He did make about 4 putts from 13-15 feet today though, so I guess it evens out a bit.

Could be a really, really fun weekend. He needs a good finish in a big way. Just a top 25 would be absolutely huge for him going forward, as far as status/priority ranking and getting into future events.

I wonder how much it would be to get a SoSH logo on his bag.
It's possible that he might do it just to have something there. But the side of the bag is pretty valuable real estate (typically going for $75,000 or more) so he would only do it as a placeholder until he gets an actual sponsor.

I'll admit that it would be cool.

Yeah, looking at the dregs at the bottom of our fantasy league, its pretty rare for the lower players to get top 25s, let alone top 10s. It would be pretty big to keep up the good play through the weekend.

Rough start today. Don't think he's hit a fairway through 7 holes, with 3 bogeys, but just made a birdie to get to +2 for the round. If he can just get it to even today, he'll be in great position, but they are saying it's basically a US Open set up out there today, and with the weather and difficulty of the course tomorrow, it's not getting any easier. He just needs to hang on at this point.

Doug just beat me to it, tough +5 today and with weather iffy tomorrow who knows, but he's made a check!

Also Megan Kahng, the 18 year old from Rockland is 2 back on the LPGA tournament. She w as in the group ahead of mine when I scored at the Futures tournament last summer, hits the shit out of the ball

Has anyone found a good video of Jang Ha-Na's Par 4 Albatross from today? The ESPN video is poor quality and has bad porn music playing over it.

First Par 4 hole in one in LPGA history, congratulations to her.

I saw it on the Golf Channel yesterday, seconds after it happened, and their video was fine. Might be able to find it on their site. It happened within a minute of the albatross on 18 in the PGA event that I someone hit, maybe Jason Bohn. Can't remember.

In other news, I can't believe they are playing in this weather today. Just saw Horschel try to hit a 5 iron into a DOWNHILL 147 yard par 3, and he came up about 20 yards short with a club he can probably hit 215 with ease. Winds blowing upwards of 50 on that tee box, with driving rain. Rob started on the back 9, and made two bogeys to start, and has made 4 straight pars since. He's tied for 39th at this point, and every time he makes a par, he seems to move up a spot or two. It's brutal out there. A couple of birdies would go a LONG way.

Where it rains. No, seriously.

Jason Gore.

The replay/half-replay of the lone ace on a par 4 on the PGA Tour by Andrew Magee was great. He banged it in off of Steve Pate's putter as Pate was in the group ahead and on the green.

A 218-yard par 4 is weak sauce. For the longest ladies that is an iron, especially with the pin in the front and it not playing that number.

Final round is live now on CBS. Should be a fun afternoon. Brandt Snedeker is -3 through 14 is the only guy under par, and he's suddenly 1 shot back. He's got a chance to post and then hang around for a few hours to see if it holds up.

Very weird to see an event in SoCal looking like Scotland

Re-start is pegged for 6:30 est. They're clearing the spectators out though due to the conditions which is a bit weird.

Possibly, but the golf channel guys were saying it's supposed to still be windy as hell tomorrow, so we'll see.
