There's no way she finishes this match on the bench, is there? I bet she's given the armband when she comes on.
She will absolutely be on when the game ends.  Maybe sub Lloyd off late to get the huge ovation, then they can swap the armband.

Iwabuchi is the only player Japan has who is as fast as the US players. She might actually be faster. She's really impressive.

I think Whitney Engen is the only outfield player that hasn't played in the tournament.

Obviously neither backup keeper is getting on bar a Solo injury.

Has Heather O'Reilly played? I don't remember it.

Officiating has been terrible all tournament. I understand they wanted to promote the women's game by having all female officials, but wouldn't it be better for everyone involved (and highlight the legitimacy of the tournament) by having the best officials in the world regardless of gender?

Well, even the men's tournament doesn't have the best officials in the world. There are always regional quotas.

Iwabuchi is destroying Morgan Brian, I wonder if they had started her if things might have gone better for them.

I wonder if the announcer winced inside when she heard herself say "good punch by Hope Solo."

Yeah the FOX women's soccer announcers are the worst announcers I've ever heard.

I think she's been the clear best player the whole tournament. She's been dominant at the back.
I was more impressed with Johnston's defending on the front foot earlier but Sauerbrun was relentlessly good for the entire tournament. Either way the CBs were a real asset for this team

Yeah the Fox announcers haven't been great all tournament. It'll be such a joy to listen to them in two years at the men's World Cup.

Hard to say. I mean Johnston looked more impressive early, but part of that was having to make big plays coming back on balls where Sauerbrun almost never got herself in those bad spots to begin with.

I doubt it will be the same. They'll drop all the USWNT vets and USWNT coaches probably. Leaving just Dellacamera who sucks. They've used these guys for MLS: Lalas, Friedel, Holden, Meola and Cobi Jones.
