Scott Piercy turned in an 80 and a 76 this week.
He has been a second round pick in this league all three years, which is amazing to me.

I'm not sure how far he would have fallen but he was my draft consultant this year so I had to take him 2nd.
Here's where I would mock you about winning the Barbasol if my team were better than yours.

I should have won this week in a walk with the tournament winner and 7 guys playing. But four missed the cut, one got an MDF and the other faded on Sunday.

I'm on my phone, so I can't check the live stats. Pretty sure that 17 won't get it done, but perhaps it will.

I finished with 15, 2 points behind, because Bubba Watson was something like +2 on the front, and -18 on the back nine, including a four bogey 36 on the front today (33 on the back with 4 birdies in the last 5 holes), and Scott Pinckney went 73, 75 over the weekend on a course everyone else was eating alive.  Oh, and Putnam shoots a +1 today to finish tied for 11th, where even par would have given him a top 10 and I would have tied for the win too.

Of course, I only had 4 guys play this week, and they all made the cut because my team is allergic to each other, so they can't ever play together, but it's at least nice that Bubba decided to go back to work after taking about 2.5 months off in the middle of the year.

Not sure anyone has seen this yet, but pgatourlive comes out tomorrow and you can sign up (i just did, a little tedious but makes sense because they want the automatic renewal) for live coverage of a pair of featured groups as soon as they tee off in the morning. I got roped in because it is a free trial (remember to cancel it after the weekend) and the first group ever featured on this has one of my players in it so i said what the hell and signed up to watch his full round tomorrow

Leon had this until Fowler rolled in his 40 footer on 18 for sole 2nd and Chappel through up a smooth 41 on the back.  Thanks Troy for that 61 yesterday, the out of nowhere win after 5 MCs is always welcome.

My team is decidedly mediocre this season. I'm good at getting 8ish points a week. Not bad but also never really in contention. Sigh. Maybe I can grab one this week or next.

six guys in a less than 80 player field is pretty darn good (at least before they start playing)

And CShea and his six guys are pretty much running away with this.  If Lowry hangs on, he'll end up with 30 points this week.  Even if he doesn't, he's probably going to be a good 10 points ahead of the next closest person. It probably shouldn't be a surprise, but the three guys with 5 or 6 players in the field this week will most likely finish 1,2,3 in the pool.

Andy Brickley's potty mouth
Adam Scott has been the biggest bust of the draft. I was elated when he fell to me, but he's been terrible this season.

Between him and Graeme, I was doomed from the start.

There's always next year amiright?

That spreadsheet is choc full of information about how horrible my team has been. Except for Matt Jones, a +10 value, all the rest are huge negatives. Horschel and Mahan. Wow. Epic fail.

GJGE Martin Kaymer. Not only didn't make the playoffs, but decided to play so few events he lost his card. Enjoy your trip back to Dusseldorf.

I was just reading about that. It won't change much for him since he's exempt into all the "big" events on tour anyways, but what a stupid way to lose your card.

Since he was already exempt through 2019 (for winning the US Open in 2014) it seems pretty clear that he was planning to stay in Europe in any case.

He's allowed 12 starts next year and cannot compete for the Fedex Cup.  Then he gets his card back in any case by virtue of his exemption.

Doesn't seem clear to me at all. Seems more likely he assumed at the beginning of the season he'd be in the playoffs and make enough money to keep his card.

I think he's live in the U.S. for a while, and will play a good number of events here anyway. Why would he forego the chance at next year's FedEx Cup

At the worst, (outside of earnings) I think he assumed he would make the FedEx Cup, which would have given him the chance to play the needed number of rounds to keep his card. This was an absolute screw up by Kaymer, nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, he'll get it back for 2017. But he threw away 2016. That isn't insignificant.

Just had a post that was eaten, but I know from past years (when he was on my team) that he never really committed to a full schedule.  Given his exempt status, I assumed that any failure to retain his card has to be evidence that he did not want to play full time in the US next season.

Either that or he's a titanic moron.

But because he took for granted his inclusion in the FedEx playoffs, he failed to play in the needed number of rounds to keep his card. Which means he's ineligible to play for the FedEx Cup next year. Considering it's 4 tourneys with decent purses and a huge first place prize, that's a choke on his part. Yeah, he'll still be exempt next year and he can get his card back for 2017 if he plays enough, but I do think he made a mistake.

Losing his card won't really affect him too much. He'll be exempt into 9 events (WGC's, majors and Players), then there are 5 invitationals (Arnie's, RBC Heritage, Memorial, Crowne Plaza and QL) that he could get invited to and play. Add in sponsor exemptions if he wants, and he'd be fine. As a fairly high profile player, I don't think there would be a shortage of opportunities for him to play.

As for the playoffs, he could miss out, but if he makes enough money in his starts he can get special temporary status and accumulate FedEx points and qualify for them.

Where do you find that? What I've read says he's ineligible for FedEx playoffs next year.

You're right. From what I've found, he can gain special temporary status if he obtains more FedEx points in his starts than the guy who finished 150th this year Cam Percy; 361). So if Kaymer gets to 361 points at any time next year, he'd get temporary status. That would give him unlimited sponsor exemptions but, you're right, he still wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs. He would need a win to regain his full card and qualify for the playoffs.

Basically he has to do what Spieth did in 2013.

"Gaining full eligibility to play on both tours -- the PGA Tour and the European Tour -- is a challenge," Kaymer said in a statement released by his management group in Germany. "When coordinating my 2014-15 schedule, I was forced to plan with a certain degree of risk. Unfortunately I have not been able to reach my goals on the PGA Tour for this season.
"I certainly accept and acknowledge the regulations of the PGA Tour. Looking at next season's schedule, especially with the Olympics and the Ryder Cup, I can cope with this situation."

This is turning into quite the race through the end of the year. Things are definitely bunching up at the top.

I definitely thought Villegas was playing himself out of the top 100 today. Also, GJGE this weekend Poults.
