Weird to say that 15 minutes of stoppage time seemed short....but was all of that basically because panama called bullshit on the penalty call? Or was there more, like threatening to leave the field?

Yep. Happens fairly frequently in Europe.

Serbia's probably due for another closed door match.  It's been what, almost two years since the last one?

But really, like, how does that call get made? I can buy incompetence on the one from the last game, since there was contact and the linesman had a bad view, but this one just screams fix.

I think Croatia plays more matches in empty stadiums than in front of fans.

California. Duh.
This is one time I'm glad I don't have Fox Sports 2. That whole incident was 100 times better listening to the Unimas announcers, even if I only understood about 20% of it.

Have to assume there was a goal coming at some point regardless but that was a really dumb challenge with a man at least vaguely in position to defend that.

Nothing like a legit penalty to win a game that is only still being played due to a terrible penalty call which wouldn't have even been an issue if the original terrible penalty call in the previous game hadn't happened.

I expect Panama's post-game press conference to be nothing less than epic.

Apparently after the PK goal Adolfo Machado starting collecting a bunch of balls from a ballgirl and started booting them as far as he could into the stands.

Good call if you ignore the offside and possible handball
Was he offside? It's my understanding that the arm doesn't make one offside. I didn't get a good look at the replay.

It was close but it looked like he had a good part of his shoulder offside. One of the unimas guys seemed to think so

It wasn't a great angle on the replay. If he was off it was extremely marginal, no problem with that not being called.

You're right about the arm. If you can't play the ball with it, it can't make you offside.

And what the fuck was with that security guy who could barely walk? Whose bright idea was it to bring that dude to the party?

If there were any justice of course Jamaica would win but I'm sure Mexico will continue to have the lucky stick shoved up its ass. Bailed out to an outrageous degree in the last two CONCACAF events.

Just watched the highlights on sportscenter for the cherry on top. Two sharknado references, skipped the Panama goal, a big arrow pointing to the defender's arm to explain why the handball was the right call, and "Andres Guerrero" scored the penalty.

They also made about 8 Ric Flair references while showing Jamaica's coach during the US highlights.

I only was able to watch extra time, but have seen the replay of the penalty.
At the end of the day, you have to have some luck smile on you to win any tournament, in any sport. Usually it's a bounce here or a call there...
Mexico has been lucky indeed.

- Provocateur comment of the day:  in 2011, Bob Bradley was fired for less.  I think that's true and worth noting.  I've always been lukewarm at best on JK but I'm not advocating for a change.
Wasn't that due in part to the fact that the USSF was itching to hire JK before he took a job somewhere else?
