29/6/3 (with only 2 TOs) is a pretty good night.
Final tally: 40 pts (on 26 fga), 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, those same 2 turnovers, while barely appearing to break a sweat.
Not a huge surprise to those who observed him in preseason, where he casually put up over 30 pts per 36 on over .700 true shooting and generally looked like a (small) man among (big) boys. In a pre-season ESPN podcast, Nate Duncan and Ethan Sherwood Strauss agreed that the most likely Warrior to take a step forward this season was ... Curry. Scary thought for opposing teams.
By way of a topic: with LeBron doing his late-career Larry Bird routine (he's already logged more career minutes than the Legend), coming off his worse season in 7-8 years and a playoffs in which he put up .487 ts, I think one can probably make a case that Steph Curry is the best basketball player in the world right now. He has the ring, the MVP and the advanced stats (RPM, e.g.) to back it up.
I look forward to the howls of derision. HE TOO SMALL, ERNIE!!!
