2015 Cushing Academy(and Ashburnhamnative) G Jalen Adams has committed to UConn per Adam Finklestein.  #26 prospect nationally.  #4 ranked SG.  Huge get for KO as they get into the July recruiting period.  Adams had interest from Kansas, Louisville, Providence, and many others were in on him.  The 2nd video of Adams is the NEPSAC AA title game in which he hits the game winning shot to repeat as champions.  Another big-shot maker and tough MA guard enters the Huskies program.

Edit: here is the full list of offers Adams had. UConn, Creighton, Kansas, Louisville, Kansas State, Maryland, Tennessee, Minnesota and Providence.

Jalen Adams is the 2nd commitment for the 2015 class.  They also have PG Willie Jackson committed.

The one I'm most interested to see if he commits is Isaiah Briscoe.  Briscoe is a Roselle Catholic guard who is rated as the #9 overall prospect(#1 PG) by Rivals.  A backcourt of Adams and Briscoe with any of Purvis, Cassell, or Hamilton back would be dynamic.

Adams was a tremendous get by Ollie and his staff. Kansas had been a threat all along and Louisville jumped in with an offer this past weekend. Derrick Jones visited campus today too, a 6'6" slasher SF with a developing jump shot ranked top 30 on most sites. Would love to see Adams commitment followed up by Steve Enoch, a 6'9" fast riser from Norwalk (ranked #53 on Rivals) who is really coming on strong as of late. Seems to be a UConn-lean based on his recent comments/tweets.

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men’s basketball program announced today that it has agreed to home-and-home series with Ohio State and Arizona, which will stretch over the next four seasons.
Ohio State, out of the Big Ten, and Arizona, out of the Pac-12, are perennial Top 25 programs and fixtures in the NCAA Tournament. Each has had memorable games against UConn in the past.
The series against Ohio State will begin in the 2015-16 season in Connecticut, with Huskies visiting Columbus the following season in 2016-17. Both games will be held during December.
UConn will travel to Tucson to play Arizona in the McKale Center during the 2017-18 season, and the Wildcats will return the game in Connecticut in 2018-19. Again, both games are tentatively set for December.

The AAC will be no issue in UConn's future greatness.  No problem getting more high profile games on the schedule.

Real nice commitment last week from Steven Enoch, a 6'10" lean 4/5 from Norwalk with big potential, generally ranked in the #60 (#54 according to Rivals) range on most recruiting sites. Comes out of the Hilton Armstrong body-type mold but with a developing jump shot. He's a kid who didn't play JV as a freshman and didn't even start on his varsity team until he was a junior but had a huge summer this year and excelled in a couple nationwide camps against top competition. Huge potential, and grew up a UConn fan. Along with Adams, love seeing some of the top New England talent stay in CT.

Longtime AD John Toner dies at 91. He was a key figure in getting UConn into the Big East. And hired 2 Hall of Fame coaches in JC and Geno.

Kevin Ollie said today that Uconn will playing a two game series with Georgetown starting in 2016 and is close to finalizing a deal to play Syracuse sometime in the future.

I'll believe the Syracuse when they're actually tipping off. Boeheim is never going to play UConn

So the Syracuse team that voted against UConn playing in their final BET is now dirty as all get out the last ten years huh?
Not to mention they wanted Louisville in the acc over UConn.
F them. Play Georgetown and steer away from Cuse

Ollie struck out on three targets today. Diamond Stone is now a must-get and they have one open schollie now

Uconn has never consistently gotten the top recruits so I'm not going to worry. We don't win recruiting, we just win championships.

Good win today. Boat doesn't seem to miss Shabazz. And if Brimah can find a way to stay on the court they might be pretty good. Look forward to play WVU on Sunday. I always liked playing them in the BE.

Young team that can be fun to watch and frustrating as hell a minute later.
Ollie knows what he's doing we will be MUCH better come March

Boat, Purvis and Hamilton is pretty damn good. and will be very good on the defensive end come March. they still need to figure out the 4. and Cassell played big minutes down the stretch. Brimah is key. He can dominate the paint defensively, but he sucks as a rebounder. Meaning Facey or Lubin will likely need to play with him. But if they could get Cassell or Calhoun playing with the other three guards and Brimah, that is a lethal team

Lots of time to figure it out

As Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friends!" BC hanging tough...for now.
Well UConn needs all the help they can get so playing WVU will help their RPI in the long run and beating BCU in basketball is just plain boring.

Anybody here see Yale's win last night?  It never even occurred to me to check the score last night.  This is probably the biggest win in Yale basketball history (of which there isn't much).  Go Bulldogs!

Ehhh, they are awful right now, playing with seven kids, four of whom never played 10 minutes in a game. The bigger issue is that they don't seem particularly tough or motivated. I think Purvis and Calhoun are disasters for chemistry, but both are needed on the court. UConn ahs horrendous spacing on offense and no one who can knock down a shot currently.

reality is that they have one NBA player in Hamilton and maybe two guys who could be 10th men in Brimah and Boatright (doubtful he makes the NBA).

The AAC is so terrible that it is likely a one or two bid conference. After UConn loses to Duke and Florida and at Stanford, they have to win the conference tourney to make the NCAAs

I'm surprised you don't have the battered wife syndrome that most Duke fans have when they see the word UConn.

Can't win in D-1 unless you score more than 40 points, particularly when your D is bad, but hey UConn makes it's money in March not December. I'll be at the Izod center dukesox, you?

I agree on for the most part, Brimah's future depends on his ability to learn how to rebound but he doesn't have a nose for the ball. I'm worried about how that develops.

This year's team is running an offense which doesn't match personnel & I've got zero confidence that Omar is going to be a game-changer. No relief in sight unless someone I don't expect starts knocking down deep jumpers.

With Enoch & Adams on board & nobody looking capable of making the jump in thinking this is next to best-case,. Best-case being AAC doesn't suck this hard & UCONN at least looks conference ready....maybe then I'd be more confident in landing Stone. I guess another silver lining would be no offers forth coming for the coaching staff. Bridge year it is!

UConn has offered 2016 6'9" 240 lb PF De'Ron Davis of Overland HS in Aurora, CO.  He is a consensus top 30 player.  Has already been offered by Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, Indiana, OK State, Oregon, UCLA, and Wake Forest.

I am not trying to be a troll, but I do wonder whether Ollie is a great coach.

Of course, he won the National Championship, which is fantastic.  But, that means he won one more tournament game than Mike Davis at Indiana.

Until the tournament, the 2013-2014 team underachieved.  Last season's team was no great shakes.  Will he have consistent winners or teams that underachieve, but play up to expectations in the tournament.

Am I being too hard on Ollie?
