Big news will get its own thread but if I remember correctly we had a MLB thread for minor news
“@mlbbowman: Mike Minor is a few weeks behind because he had to rest for a month after undergoing a 12/31 procedure to repair scarring around his urethra”

Having had a similar issue, I can attest that this is not fun at all. Resting for a month almost certainly entailed having to deal with a catheter for most of that month while the urethra healed. I was never really told for sure what had caused the scar tissue, but the most likely explanation was that it had been from a prior catheter during another surgery.

In my case it was even worse, as it developed into a full-on blockage of my urethra before I went to a urologist and I had to have emergency surgery just a few hours after eating lunch (since I wasn't expecting to undergo surgery with anesthesia). Then the blockage was so bad that I had to deal with a superpubic catheter for a month before being able to have the normal procedure and have the normal foley for another month.

Josh Reddick robs Mike Morse of a second homer today… Both highlight real catches that hopefully we get video of soon

I'm sure Oakland fans would have appreciated it had he broken his wrist on one of those two meaningless catches.

Royals confirm there are no negotiations going on with Shields and none planned at this time

Clarification: Shields has no interest in negotiating with Royals once season starts until free agency

Dayton Moore should be fired, the trade looked stupid when it happened and it's going to look even worse unless they extend Shields.

Looks like there's some traction on Ervin Santana. This report says he's in negotiations with the O's, Jays and an unspecified NL team, while this report says he's close to signing a 1-year deal for $14M with an AL club.

Reading between the lines, it appears he'll be pitching in the AL East.
