If you take the 30's thing literally that is:
SF- (King probably wouldn't call Kaep a very good veteran)
DEN- Could be
SEA- see SF
HOU- no VG vet
WAS- see SF
CLE- no vet
OAK- no Vet
ATL- could be
TAM- no vet
JAX- no vet

I'm confused---the "30's thing" is referring to the age of the QB, no? Taking it literally makes me wonder why you list teams without a QB in his 30s.

Your list of teams contains exactly one team with a QB in his 30s--Denver, and eliminates other teams with a veteran QB in his 30s--Pit, NE, SD, etc.

I think he's listing teams with a pick in the 30s, but that doesn't seem to be what the original quote was about.

Yeah my bad, I misread it, putting the word "the" instead of "his" so I thought it said : A team with a veteran QB in the 30s loves Bortles and will trade up into the 20s.

i.e. Team with a vet QB in his 30's my guess would be NYG. I've had this feeling that Eli's leash is getting shorter.

Eli Manning has been, on the whole, a completely mediocre NFL quarterback, at best, who has had two ridiculous moments of glory, and even in those cases it wasn't like he put up all kinds of points (he averaged 19 points a game for the Giants in those two SBs).

I feel dumb asking because I usually know shit like this, but I have DirecTV, which for some reason is not a supported provider for either NFL's app or Watch ESPN.

How do I get this nonsense on my iPad so I can watch the Bruins on TV?

I believe the NFL network or NFL.com has something for mobile devices.

It does -- but you have to sign in with one of a number of TV providers, and DirecTV is not among them (nor is Comcast, or RCN, or a lot of others).

If you have one of their newer receivers you can run the DirecTV app and if both the iPad and the Receiver are on the same network it will let you stream NFL network.

I read that earlier.

Ideas: Steelers, Pats, Chargers, Broncos

If it's the Pats, King could have gotten it only second hand at best.

I might've voted for "Middle School" nonsense for the Draft Subforum name.

And after they've spent the last month or so basically begging other teams to make them offers.

I really have no clue but I get the feeling that the Texans aren't really in love with Clowney.  I would not be shocked to see them trade down for a surprisingly small haul in the end or even to take Mack.

To what degree do they have to worry about appeasing the rabble these days? And if they are so beholden, what does that entail, e.g. the "'sure thing' [Ha!] immediate impact guy" v. the QB of the future, etc.?

Houston hasn't just been bad, it happened suddenly and they've been embarrassed.

I just can't stand Marshall Faulk. Between his hatred of the Patriots, now he's feeling slighted since RB's aren't first rounders anymore to " YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE  A HIGH DRAFT PICK" banter, it's awful. Don't make me put on ESPN. Off to NBC!

NEW YORK -- You might have heard that NFL prospects, for the first time ever, will have walk-up music as they take the Radio City Music Hall stage at tonight's draft.
This is one of those ideas that you can believe someone didn't come up with sooner. This is the greatest moment of these young guys' lives, so why wouldn't you have them soundtrack it?
You'll find below the choice of each prospect. Drake is a beloved man.
Odell Beckham Jr.
The Sky's The Limit - Lil Wayne
Blake Bortles
Blow Up - J. Cole
Teddy Bridgewater
The World's Greatest - R. Kelly

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Never Would Have Made It - Marvin Sapp Jadeveon Clowney The Man - Aloe Blacc
Note: This is the same song from that weird Colin Kaepernick commercial where crazed fans are attacking his team bus.
Brandin Cooks and Ryan Shazier Everythang - Young Jeezy
Sample lyric: "I used to have nothin'/ but now I got a whole lot of everythang / and I come through stuntin'/ and now the whole world gon' know/ my name"
Kony Ealy Money Baby - K Camp Eric Ebron They Don't Love You No More - DJ Khaled Mike Evans Trophies - Young Money feat. Drake Kyler Fuller and Ra'Shede Hageman We Made It - Drake feat. Soulja Boy Jimmy Garoppolo Good Life - Kanye West feat. T-Pain Justin Gilbert We Dem Boyz - Wiz Khalifa Cyrus Kouandjio Radioactive - Imagine Dragons Cody Latimer Everyday - Ace Hood Marqise Lee Handsome & Wealthy - Migos Taylor Lewan Rock City - Kings Of Leon Khalil Mack & Greg Robinson Happy - Pharrell Williams Johnny Manziel

As long as they trade Mallett and Nava for Fitzgerald and Stanton, it's all good

I'm going to go ahead and "guess" that the Pats target two players tonight or early in round 2 (if they trade back): Dominique Easley DT from Florida and Bradley Roby, CB from THE Ohio State University.

Is this a guess, or an informed opinion?

If I'm Houston, I'm trading down to around #3, and grabbing Watkins, and then picking up a QB with my first pick in round 2, where you're likely to still have Bridgewater or Carr, etc. available.  They need a lot of help, and I just don't think Clowney is the guy that makes that team a contender.  Depending on what they would get in return for the #1, that's the type of move I'd be looking at.   They need a QB a lot more than they need Clowney, and if they are going to get a QB with their pick in round 2 anyway, why not grab someone else later in the top 10, and maybe add a couple more picks this year or next year as well.  Maybe even another first rounder next year.

I think you're underselling Nava.  ;)

He's a late bloomer and he has an option left. We should hold on to him as an eventual Brady replacement.

Hmm...how about an informed guess?

To be honest, I'm trying to get more info but I just got the first Pats related text from my buddy in over a year, so I'm not sure how accurate his info is these days. I'll post if I hear anything else.

While I'm fine with the current set of CBs: Revis, Browner, Dennard, Arrington, and Ryan, I'd be okay with them adding another, especially as we might not have Revis for more than 1 yr. I don't think CB is a "need", but if they like the player and he's there...

Ditto -- glad the SB loss is still bothering him so much that he has to yap about it all these years.

I think there are more pressing needs, but it does make sense when you look at the roster after next season. There's a bit of long term instability there, esp if the team wants to try Logan Ryan at safety.

I'm not really thrilled with either guy, but in Bill we trust, right?

Running a commercial before Houston's pick?

And even admitting to the audience that it's just money. Wow.

This makes sense. On the other hand, CB is kind of deep this year - how much better is Roby (or Fuller, Verrett, etc.) than Philip Gaines or Loucheiz Purifoy or Pierre Desir or Ross Cockrell, etc., that are going to be available rounds 2/3/4? The dropoff looks steeper to me at DL / OL / S.

ESPN stayed with the coverage.  Though I think I'd rather watch that random red couch commercial than Berman and his hideous tie collection.

No point in staying with it since the NFL announcers literally said, Sorry folks, we got "to pay the bills" so the pick is delayed until after the commercial.

This is silly even by these standards.
