This is the worst secndary I've ever seen. Hey, guys, you're not allowed to tackle WRs.

Watching Williams try to argue the PI call when he basically slapped the WR in the head as the ball was getting there had me doubled over in laughter. It was just so pathetic.

I must admit this isn't the least bit surprising to me,  I had Arizona as one of my highest confidence picks in the bowl contest.

The 7 wins this year were a real testament to the schedule (3 gimme games, plus Wake and NC St, and catching a few teams at the right time, but even with that it was pretty miraculous

What??? I thought it was a night game. Can't believe I came all this way and missed the game.

Unfortunately ... Not true.
Next time they are in a bowl....make sure they can be competitive before you sink that $$$ into travel.

Look, they are a meh team. They went 1-4 against first division teams this year, had only one quality win and their quality win is being exposed today in a 42-12 loss itself (another Pac 12 opponent blowing out an ACC team). Lots of work here, but they went 7-6, went to a bowl and appear to have a decent recruiting class coming in if you believe the reports.

Chase Rettig never lived up to the hype. Can't blame him for all of that due to what we have all discussed over the years but the fact remains he nevdr really developed and he will go down as a decentr but not really good QB....basically a better version of Chris Crane.

My thing is that I am beginning to get a little tired of being the Cleveland Browns as BSF said recently.  I would like to be able to play some first dvision teams and actually have a legitimate chance to win the game, not just play and not be embarassed. I am going to give Daz another year to see how he develops the team but in 2015, I looking for them to be a good team and compete with everyone on their schedule. My way of thinking is that BC has to play a more attractive OOC schedule and become more exciting toi watch. The schedule seems to be coming around, now we need some energy and creativity in the program.

I was kidding. BC with a surprisingly solid turnout. I am glad I came. Even more so with the basketball team going nowhere this year.

I know the team isn't as well positioned as Coughin's second year but I couldn't help but think of that Hall of Fame bowl blowout versus Tennessee which was followed by the memorable (but ultimately disappointing) 1994 season.

Here's hoping for a similar trajectory.

After watching the game yesterday and also thinking back to the USC game, I hope the excessive turtling up on offense is just a function of the current roster.  I mean, we were down by 3-4 touchdowns in the third quarter and still lining up in a goal line formation and trying to run five-yard play action rollouts.

I would automatically give Daz the benefit of the doubt on that question, but for the litany of complaints about his offense coming from Florida fans who watched him work with a much more talented roster.

Well BC has literally no talent at wide receiver, I think we can give him a pass on that until they are able to get a few more talented guys at wideout. Amidon was literally the only guy they had.

BC never has any talent at WR. The Amidon types are all we're ever going to get. I think Addazio is definitely more conservative on offense than most. But at least it's countered by a more aggressive defensive approach.
While I agree with this, I think the last couple of years have been awful with regards to wide receiver talent. At least in the past they have some decent wideouts.

Looking at the schedule next year BC plays the defending National Champion, the Orange Bowl champion a much improved probable Top 10 USC and Louisville. Also they have a dynamic coach who is engaged and always "closing". I like where the program is going.

Suddenly this program is starting to be worth looking at again. Happy winter fellas. Talk with you over on the 2014 thread. I'll let someone else set that one up. Ciao!

Given the disaster that the bball season has turned into I am not starting the 2014 thread.

Also ... Nice job by Addazio on ESPN last night.

Bc guys seem to be killing it at the combine.  Ramsey most reps for a defensive player, Williams faster and more athletic than expected, Patchan crushing, Pierre Lewis fastest LB

A breakout star at BC, Williams is suddenly playing a new game to which the rules seem nebulous at best. But failure is not an option. Early projections have him going anywhere from the third to the fifth round, and he knows every nuanced perception could push his reputation in either direction. He was mindful of how he was sitting, standing, speaking and interacting with people last Thursday when he arrived at the Atlanta airport for his flight to Indianapolis and spotted two Saints scouts and a Dolphins scout at his gate. Despite his successes, he knows an NFL future is neither promised nor guaranteed.

Alex Amidon apparently turned down his offer to participate in the NFL combine.    He has instead chosen to join the Navy, and will enter the Seal program

BC has turned out at least 2 SEALS that I know of. I'm sure there are more. One of them won a bronze star for valor in Afghanistan, the other was killed in action in Iraq after winning a Purple Heart and a Silver Star. BC should be very proud.

SEAL school is brutally difficult. I was in San Diego last year at a meeting (at the Hotel Del Coronado) and right next to the hotel is BUDS school. While having  beer on the patio, overlooking the Pacific, we see about 10 inflatable boats cruising to shore at about 50 mph. They come to a dead stop and everyone jumps off, swimming to shore in full battle gear.  They hit the shore and proceed to run to an obstacle course about 200' down the shoreline, scaling a 50' rope ladder and over an under logs, etc., all in sandy dunes....unbelievably exhausting...and that was just a piece of the training that night. Most SEALS are not BCS level athletes. Most actually are swimmers, water polo players or Lax players if they are ex jocks.  They have to swim, run, jump and be agile in order to handle the physical demands.  They also have to be incredibly tough mentally. Good Luck Ensign Amidon.
