Texas might lose by 40.
In their favor, Oregon has played like shit since losing to Stanford. A couple of weeks ago, one of them was bitching to the press about the prospect of only playing in the Rose Bowl instead of the championship game. Are they going to bother to show up for the mere Alamo Bowl?

Valid question re: Oregon. They're basically a pro team that has checked out. Not a good formula. Reminds me of the year Stanford won 10 games, got shafted to the Seattle Bowl, and didn't show up against a weak (GT I think?) team.

If UT loses Brown's extremely likely definitely gone. If they win, ehhhhhhhhhhhh. I hope they lose on purpose.

Lets see how many Duke students actually go to the game as opposed to scalping the tickets.

USC just executes a perfect onsides kick, and gets it taken away because of the rule that treats one-bounce kicks the same as on the fly kicks. I have no love for USC, but I really hate that rule. Onsides kicks should be encouraged and not made harder. They are really the only good reason for the continued existence of the kickoff, IMO.

Yeah, back in the past, that would have been pitch perfect onside kick. Instead, the kicking team basically can't touch anyone in the vicinity of the falling ball.

Watching the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.  Tulane v. Louisiana Lafayette.

Tulane has Nick Montana (son of Joe) at QB and Nico Marley (son of Rohan* and grandson of Bob) starting at WILB.

I feel old.

(If you don't recall, Rohan started next to Ray Lewis at Miami.  He led Miami in tackles one season he was there).

And in a strange twist, I came across this SI article about Rohan.  That issue had Joe Montana on the cover, wearing a Chiefs uniform.  http://si.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1138363/index.htm

Pirates!  Bobcats!  It's East Carolina v. Ohio in the Beef O'Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl!  Coming to you from the Trop!

EDIT:  I really hope one of the kicks in this game hits a catwalk at this joke of a stadium/park.

Shane Carden. ECU QB. 6' 2" 218.  Decent arm, runs a very up tempo, short passing offense similar to New England's.  Will be keeping an eye on him. A junior unlikely to come out early, but might move up draft boards next year with a solid 2014.

Carden definitely has a strong arm.  Nice touch too.  Just threw a beautiful fade route on the goal line.

Mechanics are a bit scewy.  Long, deliberate throwing motion.  Bit of a windup to it.  He'll need to streamline that if he wants to play at the next level.

NIU's defensive coordinator should be tarred and feathered. Or fired.

Down six against a third string, freshman QB who throws worse than my 18 day old daughter, but he refuses to put more than seven in the box for the game's biggest drive. My God.

Uh, NFL refs suck, but how the NCAA officials on the field are saying the Syracuse runner was down before that fumble defies belief.
