Good news is, I think we're still #3 in net rating.

Remember when people were joking around about how this would have a positive effect on our net rating, like the Bulls game?

I'm officially done with that fucking stat, and I'm going to clown on it every chance I get. If you blow out a bunch of shitty teams, but can't beat good ones, and then fall apart against semi-decent ones night in and night out, it means shit.

If these mismatches are so obvious and easily generated why are we building 20+ point leads? Shouldn’t the coaches know what brad is doing ahead of time and exploit all the mismatches earlier?

I think Brad does need to be quicker to take a timeout and be harder on players who choose to iso/play crap defense/etc but this to me is still about the players. They were up by 30 tonight. Any 5 men from their roster has to be able to bring that home. They didn’t learn a damn thing from the Lakers game and they’ve given up over 120 points to both teams. Just normal committed defense gets them both Ws

Celtics were outscored 83-44 from the 4:10 mark in the 2nd quarter.

Not much that coaching can do with that kind of effort. That's a sorry effort from the guys on the floor. Way, way, way too many open 3 point attempts when the ball was thrown into the middle. Wings such as Hayward and Brown were drawn into Harrell and left their men wide open for 3's.

This says it all here, folks. The Celtics don't have fun. You know what's fun, Marcus? Winning games up 20-plus. Give me a fucking break.

Marcus Morris said when he looks at the Celtics he sees a bunch of individuals. Said he sees everyone else having fun around the league, they don’t have fun.

“It hasn’t been fun for a long time.”

I am not a Marcus Morris fan. I've been saying it around here a while, but I think he's the cancer in that locker room. I think guys are afraid to speak up around him, I think he's the first guy to go after his younger teammates, I very much doubt he looks to help or mentor any of them. I think he's in it for himself, and his next contract, and his play shows it. I'm watching this interview now, and it's fucking unbearable that he's the one talking like this, when to me, he's one of the biggest ball-stoppers on this team. I can't even take it. I need to turn this shit off.

So who is he going after with these comments? Is it guys like Rozier/Brown who have lost their minutes this year because of Kyrie and Hayward?

I don't think you turning back into the offensive black hole you were last year is very fun, but okay Marcus.

If it's the young players who are the problem, maybe it's OK to trade a number of them for Davis if that is going to happen in July.

The fanbase is going to turn on Morris fierce. Going to be a real ugly final 2 months as a Celtic for him.

The sign behind Tatum with the team principles on it is very interesting considering they weren't doing any of the things listed.

It's a lot more fun when you win.

The problem is simple. Everyone thinks they are an All-Star and when the opponents make a run, they are going to "take the game over."

Everyome thinks they are a little better than they really are.

The problem with this team that late in close games, they don't know who gets the ball or where their shots should come from.

Hopefully, they figure something out. Soon.

Horford and Hayward are the only rotation guys who are not prone to bouts of hero ball. It’s silly for Morris to be the one to say it because he is often a prime offender, but he’s absolutely right.

At the end of the day I think it takes a better coach of personalities than Stevens to handle a team that is divided by vets and young guys. This basically destroyed the Big Three team near the end.

The math was a bit different in the playoffs last year, mostly because you had Horford in the mentor role with everyone else scrapping. Now they step on the court expecting to win every night and are playing like it. He hasn’t gotten this team to play together consistently all season.

This squad is really the polar opposite of the playoff squad last season that wasn’t the most talented but played balls out and with each other for 48 minutes a night. I don’t know what the fuck happened or who to blame but it sucks. This is becoming a true disaster of a season and a really unlikeable team.

If we are keeping Stevens next year I think I'm ok with letting the vets walk, falling back to a 7th or 8th seed and building around Tatum and Brown.

Are you including Kyrie in that “vet” group? Because letting him walk for nothing would be monumentally stupid.

I doubt it's as simple as "Stevens can't coach the egos of NBA veterans", but what do I know

Depends on his injury and how he finishes the season. Do we want to pay a guy John Wall money who gets injured every year?

Edit: this is also game thread venting by me.
