The commentary team is shitting all over Arsenal but I don't think they're playing that badly. If Atkinson had called a foul in Alonso's goal like he should have they'd be describing this as a "cagey" away performance.

Arlo used a gentle touch. "You don't think that's a foul?" followed by an uncomfortable silence after the inevitable barely coherent rambling response.

I mean, Alonso elbowed a guy in the face. Intent is irrelevant, you can't do that.

How the hell did Mason miss that hand ball?

Doesn't miss that one - though that was clearly deliberate

Another Mignolet catastrophe - corner of course set up by a brutally casual play by Can in midfield

N'Diaye puts both hands above his head and interferes with a buildup - no card

Not sure what on earth is Lucas thinking releasing Hernandez there

I absolutely hate this Liverpool squad the past month or so. Bringing nothing. Looks like they have nothing left to give either. At least that's what the body language is telling me. Holiday plans have been made by the looks.

California. Duh.
2 points separate the bottom 6 right now.

Leicester City is in a legitimate relegation fight at the same time they are in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Beat me to it. I hope they sell. It's obvious at this point they're not going to give the bulk sum needed for this club to compete for a full season.
Liverpool has the 5th highest wage bill (and closer to 4th than 6th), but the issue is they're not spending enough?

I am not necessarily disputing that, but explain this to me.

Here's the wage bill. The issue is that Klopp hasn't fully rebuilt the squad yet to fit his system. He's been very deliberate in his transfer dealings, seemingly not overspending on targets (Zielinski, Dahoud), moving out high priced misfits (Balotelli, Sakho), bargain hunting (Klavan, Matip), and opening the purse selectively (Mane, Wijnaldum). In other words, it's been a slow remake that has left the team without a lot of useful depth as well as a few short-term bandaids. The hope is that a Champions League spot will speed the process along by increasing the wage & transfer budgets and making Liverpool a more attractive destination for world class talents. As for finding a taker for Sturridge....
