Ultimately didn't end up on the scoreboard but that last shift by Eriksson was so good in so many ways
He's gotta get more then the 2nd round picks and mid level prospects teams are offering to make it worth telling Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand & Chara that the FO is punting this season.
Do you have some insider information you wish to tell us about? I've heard nothing about what other teams have offered the Bruins for Loui so far.
Regardless, he should take the best deal on the table and run. Clearly what the Bruins value Eriksson at, and what he wants are not aligned. So it's safe to assume he's gone at the end of this season. The Bruins aren't doing shit this year past the first round, and even without Loui they should be able to get that far. Make the team better for next year, this year isn't happening.
I just think they're holding out for a first & good prospect. They're watching what were watching. And I don't buy the "ownership is demanding they don't sell for futures because they want the playoff gate" crap I'm reading other places. I just think they've been underwhelmed by the offers so far. Teams will probably start to panic tomorrow around 1:30-2:00.
I don't understand why Stamkos would leave a really good team in a state with no state income tax to go to a shitty Maple Leafs team and deal with all the aggravation of playing in his home town.
I'm not convinced that it's anything more than the Toronto media wishcasting. It's the same thing that has any player born in the 905 wanting to come back home to help the Leafs, their favourite childhood team, finally win one.
I think like anything else he's using the rumors to create negotiating leverage.
Well, yeah, but that's his prerogative. It's also Yzerman's to hold firm on what the team can afford to keep him.
