Great hustle by Marchand and what a seed by Kemppainen

(All that said, awful goaltending)

What are the odds, eh? Guy gives up 5 on 13 shots and it is the OTHER goalie who gets yanked. Weird game
The last two goals were really bad too. I'm surprised he's still in.

Nothing beats Luongo staying in for all 8 goals in a SCF game though.

Bruins had a chance to make a statement. Nationally televised game between the Super Bowl and Spring Training with NBA on hiatus. Chance to get a road win against a good team. Came up empty. This team isn't going anywhere and they damn well better do something at the deadline this year.

Just for the heck of it, I'll be the optimist for a moment. Third game in four days is pretty much a scheduled loss. They hung in on the scoreboard until the 3rd period in a game in which they were dominated in every phase but goaltending. Halfway through the road trip they've got 4 out of a possible 6 points. And they did it without their best player.

Aaaaaand back to realism. Just not enough blue line talent on this team (obviously) and not enough depth up front. The lack of an even moderately useful fourth line -- which they really could've used today -- is on Sweeney.
