Fair enough. I will agree that the current toxicity on the team seems to have bled in here.
it wasn't a shot at anybody really
I don't think its ok to give up a 20-2 run in 6 minutes (with 9 TOs) but I also think these things ebb and flow and, yes, a little perspective and patience helps deal with the fluctuations of nearly every NBA game.
I don't know man, do you. I appreciate your in-depth posts/thoughts but also wonder how you can follow a team for a whole season and seem to get legitimately bent out of shape every time the opposition goes on a 10-0 run. It's seems like a lot.
i missed most of the 2nd half, sounds like the board got salty
Fair enough - I stand corrected and apologize. You are my boy, Bayneshogan
I still love Tommy
Gordon is starting to string some games together.
I’m starting to get ideas.
Celtics to be a half game out of the third seed, with the impending loss for Indy against the Bucks
It was also pretty awesome to see Kyrie joking around with Smart for a minute during the 4th. Maybe there is hope
Everyone gets to chillax until Bucks game a week from Thursday, right?
I was hoping he'd put bleach in a water bottle and spray the ref he was chatting with in the first half. And then hit him with a chair when he was stumbling around blindly.
all good, lovegtm has it right.
much like the team, sounds like game threaders also need the All-Star break,
the image of Brad doing that has me laughing
It was a quick and obvious hook and I've noticed a couple other things that indicate a few changes. Not sure if it's a phase of the season thing or if the Clippers/Lakers games have had an impact, but they seem to have positive results.
I wonder what irl people would think of a context in which I'm the voice of reason lol
But yes, I'm looking forward to a break from basketball for a week. I think a lot of stuff will feel better after that.
I'm not sure what's the most impressive - his numbers the last two games or that he did it back to back. Both I guess. But the ankle must be pretty good to hold up and play like that.
Simmons on his pod today with KOC had this to say about Hayward:
So maybe it wasn't the ankle at all. Maybe when we look back, the Philly game, with the entire narrative around it, maybe we'll see that and realize there was a switch flipped there for Hayward mentality-wise.
Good win. Screw the refs. Terry is superfluous.
Thanks for posting that. It gives me hope that the GH we've seen the last couple of nights is not a mirage, but the start of something big.
He did make one aggressive drive to the hoop through traffic tonight that, unlike his drives earlier in the season, resulted in a made basket. It was fairly impressive. Maybe he can build on that.
btw this was the post of the thread.
It’s good, but the post of not only the thread but the season was the one that deduced that since Tommy was at the game and DotB was not posting that DotB is Tommy.
Warning: Personal Story That the Poster Believes Has More Relevance to the Topic at Hand than Others Do
I started playing a pickup basketball game about three years ago and just as I was rounding into shape I fell forward hard and broke both of my elbows. I couldn’t drive for two months and when I told my wife I wanted to play again she almost died.
When I did come back I went from being the worst player on the court to the worst player in history – shortarming everything, tentative inside and just generally doing everything terrible. After a few more months I was mostly fine physically but a wreck mentally – nobody was passing to me, nothing was going in and I briefly contemplated stopping altogether. Then, the holidays came which is when they re-finish the floor and people take two weeks off. When I came back, I was hitting everything and since then I’ve had my ups and downs but have never felt as badly as I did those three or four months after I came back.
The point is, I am a shitty 45 year-old guy playing basketball for fun – and the feelings of inadequacy, not to mention the worry that I would re-injure myself, were often overwhelming on and even off the court. I honestly can’t imagine how difficult it must be for an elite athlete making the max on a team that was within one game of making the Finals last year coming off a catastrophic injury.
So when it comes for Gordon, and I really hope it does, I wouldn’t be surprised if it *comes.*
It's a Maker miss league.
