Certainly is after tonight! But, seriously, I don’t think anyone saw Pierce’s career finishing like this. The KG trade changed his entire career arc.

Scal said it: Pierce's legacy will live on through Kyrie because him and KG are the reason Kyrie is even here.

Kryie can be that guy if he wins one title. He's only 25!!

Pierce was a Celtic since he was like 21 and really connected with the fans. Kyrie is more likely to be in the shorter-lived KG Celtics legend division if he wins a title. He’s only 25 but he’s not likely to have the durability needed to have the sustained excellence as a Celtic that Pierce had for over a decade.

I think Tatum is the only guy with the game, longevity, and moxie to get there.

Yeah, Kyrie can't be that guy. He might could be the man on a title team, but he can't be Pierce. He's not gonna be here for a team that wins 20 games. He wasn't drafted by us after a free fall on draft night. There's just no way he could ever mean as much.

You already shorted him a “y”.

Here’s to all of them having long careers in Green.

He was golfing with George Lopez. This is not a joke.

Getting Smart back will help with the energy level and defensive intensity. Hayward will help boost the offense.

There are two sets of retired numbers for this franchise. The actual retired numbers, and the numbers of all the players personally retired by Tommy Heinsohn as future all-time greats.

    Or not.

    From WEEI.com:

-- While the Celtics were retiring Paul Pierce’s number 34 at TD Garden on Sunday, Ray Allen was golfing with George Lopez.

Allen and the 2008 Celtics team have a beef stemming from when Allen left the Celtics to join the Heat in 2012.

It seemed the two had made up in a #onceacelticsalwaysaceltic Instagram post from Pierce last year.

But it looks like Allen might not be over it yet.
