I may or may have not done an interview with Guerin Austin of NESN with my father at McGanns. There was whiskey Involved so 50/50 I’m coherent.

B’s say upper body injury for Krejci, he won’t travel to Buffalo.

Strange. From full participant at morning skate to ruled out of 2 games. Did he get concussed taking a nap?

So just curious. If one were interested in seeing a postgame press conference from a visiting coach where would one look?

First-Half 7th Man (if we exclude the fact that McAvoy is totally winning it):
McAvoy 4-12-16 in 30 GP 23:23 TOI/G
DeBrusk 6-8-14 in 26 GP
Heinen 7-11-18 in 26 GP
Khudobin 7-2-0 and keeping the team steady when Tuukka stumbled.

also: stats might not be current as of the end of the game.

Heinen would probably have the best shot, but yeah, Chucky Mac is winning it.

That's what aggravates me about the 7th player award. It's supposed to reward a guy with a limited ceiling that plays way better than everyone thought he could. It should be Heinen in a route. Nobody saw a top six forward on a good team when this kid was drafted in the 4th round. McAvoy was a first round pick that was being compared to Drew Doughty.

McAvoy had unrealistic expectations coming into this season and he's exceeded them, which I think is 7th player worthy.

Heinen has come out of nowhere though. I really like that he's a finesse player who seems to have great chemistry playing with grinder types. The wowy numbers for Heinen with Schaller, Kuraly, Nash, and Backes (yeah I know Backes is not like the other 3) are all pretty drastic. A lot of (especially young) finesse players look totally out of place playing with players like that and he seems to be able to elevate their play. If that's repeatable and not just a small sample size, that seems really valuable.

McAvoy has jumped in and basically been a bona fide #1 D as a 19 year old rookie. He’s the 7th player (and probably Calder, but he likely won’t win that).

Heinen has been a bit of a revaluation. He kind of got lost going into the year with the Bjork and DeBrusk hype, but he has been tremendous.
