Newcastle/Bournemouth has been a frustrating one from a Bournemouth perspective. Elliot has been immense.

Draw with Everton is a bit disappointing, even with Payet going off injured.
Of course Lukaku scored again, that is a goal in his last 7 against West Ham.

I can see why Jose is so reluctant to play Baba, he is a total stiff out there.

On Stoke's goal he stepped up to Shaqiri, saw Johnson overlapping and took a step back, taking himself out of the play entirely.

Yep, the classic case where the player will be applauded for staying on his feet, even though he could have rightly had a penalty and probably a red on the keeper.

Only 3 points out of the relegation zone.

But at least in the Seven Watch, Chelsea is still 1 point ahead of Newcastle.

Man I just don't see the Remy play as a penalty, surely not a stonewall. The sideways touch prevents the collision between the two players....it's a clever touch to make space and there's no contact. There are enough dodgy pens called in this league I don't think we need to whistle when there's no contact. Remy was unlucky to trip there.

As you're going to hear ad nauseam over the next week... No contact is required in that situation. If he keeps his feet he gets wiped out. He did the right thing trying to carry on, but the referee should have awarded the penalty.

United parked the last 30. Just dross, ugly stuff at OT these days. Lingard has been good

I don't think you know what that phrase means...

Also 8 clean sheets now on the year, leads the Premier League. For all of the difficulties attacking our defense has been great. Credit to LVG for creating discipline back there...even if Sachmoney thinks it's terrible...

Which phrase? I watched the 2nd half --- United are playing so deep and with 2 midfielders behind the ball at all times. It's not surprising you're not conceding goals, it's so so so negative. It's earning results and with everyone else's struggles it might even be the right thing to do but my goodness is it boring to watch.

The phrase parking the bus. In the second half, once ahead, they played on the counter. They do play with 2 midfielders behind the ball because Van Gaal is obsessed with possession (to a fault sometimes) but I'll take the league position and performance over the Moyes era any day. West Brom had literally 10 men behind the ball, in their own final third, for most of the game. THAT is parking the bus.

The attack could improve if, unfortunately, they drop Rooney but I don't think LVG will.

Jose Mourinho- 4 full seasons managing in premier league, 3 titles.
Arsene Wenger- 19 full seasons, 3 titles.
Every Liverpool manager- 23 full seasons in premier league, 0 titles.

I understand the Schadenfreude, but Mourinho is undisputably one of the best managers in the world, this seasons collapse is enough to get on him about and has no relation to the title Chelsea won 5 years after Mourinho left. Besides, his ears are plugged with his two champions league rings.

Much like Mourinho winning in Europe...just not with Chelsea.

Yes, it's schadenfreude, and yes, he's had plenty of success in the past. It's still fun watching one of the biggest narcissists on earth being embarrassed regularly. Oh, and Mourinho has managed two full seasons at Chelsea where he didn't win the title, not one.

I wonder if City will score again in additional time...and what I´ve seen in last 15mins, it would not be deserved...

Unbelievable that Villa managed to stay level. A head save by Guzan and Fernando hitting the post in the dying minutes preserved a draw, but Villa also had plenty of opportunities and really good movement going forward.

It's really early but Garde is looking like a solid hire

Football wise, this isn't a vintage year for the EPL. But if it makes for a tight second half of the season with teams like The Foxes in the hunt for European footie, and Chelsea striving for mid table obscurity, so be it. A few pundits coming out the closet and tipping the Gooners for the title, Shay Given, being the latest; he's a P/T player and pundit.

Is Jose a dead man walking? Two weeks ago I thought he'd finish the season, but now...I dunno.

Tottenham are playing some stellar defense so far. They've done a great job getting in front of some scary passes in their own box.

Well, kind of knew it was coming. Sakho grabs his knee and looks to be in trouble.

edit: lol Lovren warms up and is about to come in but Sakho decides he's OK

edit 2: Sakho re-aggravates it trying to jump for a header and is off. Well shit

Spurs have been playing full court press and Arsenal just can't deal with it. With the d-mids under pressure and the fullbacks pressuring constantly, the back line has no way of out letting the ball, so they boot it up pitch or pass back to Cech who then boots it up pitch. They really need to move the entire midfield back a bit and focus more on working it up the field instead of punting it to an isolated attacker in a 50/50 situation. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really with Arsenal would pass it to death right now.

Lamela, who just received a yellow (and probably unfairly), has slide tackled twice now after that and did not get the ball...

Sub off an attacker for a left back in an attacking situation, of course he scores, cause why wouldn't he?

Blanked and thought last year was his first back with Chelsea, mea culpa.

It just amuses me that the people who are quickest to jump on Mourinho and celebrate his defeats are those who root for two successful teams that have had little to no success against Mourinho during his time in the PL. He's such an excellent villain.
