A small puece is lots of walking into the zone instead of dump/chase. Saves seconds and keeps momentum.
They aren't relying on the umbrella nearly as much either... I just don't know why it took so long to make the changes, and how those changes made a complete dud of a PP into a goddamn juggernaut.

I thought the Beleskey hit was borderline enough to warrant the McIlrath. It was probably officiated correctly.

Bergeron is so so so fucking good. He goes hard on the forecheck, takes the body and tries to disrupt the breakout. Then busts ass all the way back and when the Rangers dump it in, his back pressure helps poke the puck away back to Chara who clears. Such a small play but so valuable.

Color me a Frank Vatrano fan. Certainly looks like they have something here with him.
Agreed, and also agree with Reardon on Kempainnen. Hopefully this trial by fire that is going on right now helps out the young guys (including Colin Miller, and maybe even Ferraro) as the year goes along.

Both Hayes and Belesky appear to be starting to gel with the team, too.

Now, if we can just find a way to keep Kevan Miller from coming back.....

Poor game for Krejci/Eriksson. Krejci's been on the ice for 20 of the Rangers 38 ES shot attempts. Kemppainen line needs to be better too.

Have to think with every successful PK and win they get while he's not on the roster that he becomes an odd man out.

They still have Pastrnak getting healthy as well... You could potentially see him on the third line with Kempainnen and Spooner and slot Connolly down to the fourth and bench Shithead and ice a Ferraro-Hayes-Connolly fourth line? That could be very very good.

I don't understand the interference. Henrik is 2 feet outside the crease and Girardi forces him in towards him. Is Marchand just supposed to stop and not go on skating? He has the right to go in front of the net not in the crease I assume.

Not exactly a dive because he did get clipped but again they need to define goalie interference. He shouldn't have free roam of the offensive zone.

And of course

What a fucking last 10 mins of this 3rd period. This is awesome, outstanding work from them.

Beleskey was doing fucking work out front on that goal too. Took a ton of punishment for it. Great job.

God damn it Chara, why ice that?
In that instance, you get it the fuck out. Try to flip it so it settles but if you miss, miss long. If you fan on that or don't get it high enough, a turnover is deadly there. No issues with that from me.

Fair, but it seemed like he had a lot of time before having to do anything with it.
