If they shoot average, they're only down 3 or 4 to the Knicks at home. Winning!
I can agree to this! It just isn’t working with him. Would probably be best for both sides to move on.
Good to see Smart and Rozier still out there together. You do you, Brad.
Horrible take by Tatum
Bring back shane?
Tatum had Horford for an easy alley-oop, shoots the floater instead.
If they shoot average, the Knicks are inbounding the ball and the Celtics could focus on playing less wretched defense. The problem is not the coach, you’re off your rocker on this
Hahaha he's going with abysmal 3 guard lineup again.
I'm now starting the bench Rozier movement, signups are open.
I like Shane and he had his useful moments but man we are in a dark place if we’re pining for Shane Larkin.
do us all a favor as the man said
i'd trade him for the Suns mascot right now
I'm a huge Brad fan. This year he consistently has not had the team ready to play.
I hope he's ok
That should be a flagrant.
How bout a flagrant?
Bring back the mask!
Ugh that elbow
Ditto, and it’s absolutely the worst possible year for this to happen, if it continues. It could completely blow the rebuild if Kyrie gets scared away.
Common foul. Joke.
And debating the need to call up williams was a sign of light
Right, and this is what's concerning to me. The NBA is about stars, period. If you have one (who wants to play defense now, too!), you don't blow his contract year fucking around with rotations and trying to keep Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart happy. If your coach can't cope with this reality, no matter how talented he is, he can't coach in the NBA.
I’m with you though. Shane Larkin might be a better option out there than what Rozier is bringing to the table right now.
He’s mixing and matching and trying to find viable units. Not ready to play assumes there’s something he could be doing to make these guys make shots. A few weeks ago everyone wanted a big lineup and he has started that and it hasn’t changed things. They are generating open looks according to the stats. There are things he can do better but he’s facing an impossible problem right now. The players need to make shots
They're generating nothing at the rim and taking tons of long 2s.
That's not clear path?
... and missing the fuck out of them.
Kyrie being abused
Tommy on a roll.
Think Kerr or Pop would let that go quietly in the postgame?
This will be a Phoenix-level heist if they can somehow steal this.
Do you really think Brad Stevens is sending them out there with the instructions to take more 2s?
These refs are ass.
Shot selection. Abysmal
He has consistently let Tatum stay on the floor while jacking them most of the year. He started benching him a bit for it recently, but it took awhile. Not disciplining guys for dumb shit is tantamount to instructing them to do it, particularly when they're young guys.
Hayward has one man to beat and instead of taking it hard to the basket he slows up, passes it to Horford way too early and he turns it over. Jesus Christ.
No, he has not tried the big lineup. That's bullshit. He started Baynes the other night, played him 7 minutes and then benched him the rest of the game.
He started Baynes tonight, played him 8 minutes and he's only played 4 minutes since that time, and Baynes has the 3rd best +- on the team tonight behind Kyrie and Gordon.
It's almost like Brad is starting him so he can tell people he tried it and it didn't work, when the reality is when Baynes came out in the 1st half, that's when it all went to shit. You'd think he would have given it another shot. That's when Horford was getting looks underneath and shit. All of it ended, never to be seen again.
To clarify, the Celtics have had some stretches this year where they've generated tons of great looks with awesome ball movement, and missed the looks. I'm fine with those--I even enjoy them to some degree. They've also had very long stretches of putrid offense, with little threatening action and poor ball movement, which has bled into awful defensive effort and miscommunications. That's what's on the coach, not the missed shots.
And the alternative to Tatum is more Brown or more Hayward and they’ve been wretched themselves.
Hayward just does not trust himself to explode to the rim.
False dichotomy. The alternative to Tatum shooting bad 2s is benching him every time he does it until he stops, at which point you can play him a ton again.
EDIT: they did that tonight whenever he did, and he's obviously been making a conscious effort to stop shooting them. This isn't rocket science.
Why are they going even smaller?
Play. Two. Bigs.
make your fucking free throws
Someone explain why Brad took Al out.
You have to imagine that’s the most difficult aspect for him, mentally, given how it happened.
Baynes is a fine role player, but thats about it. I doubt laying baynes serious minutes is the solu
Dogshit team tonight.
