It would be nice to start winning again. But the Oilers are a pretty good road team and the Bruins at home are ... er ... well ... let's say inconsistent.

I'm just glad I'm not under any pressure to start game threads anymore.

I expect a 6-1 loss. with the Bruins 1 goal being an empty netter because the Oilers get bored.

(Seriously, though, win please)

If the over/under on McQuaid's +/- is -2, and he puts up a -4, is that over or under?

The Bruins will win this game. This isn't the dynasty Oilers. They're good, not great. You try and march Bergy/Marchand on McDavid/Draisaitl, hope they play to a wash, then hope the B's depth beats the Oilers depth.

So much for that

Honest question: how many goals have the Bruins given up within the first 5 min of a game? How about 10 min? Anecdotally its felt like a lot.

Bergeron is fucking unbelievable. If you're teaching a kid hockey show them that shift. He was deep in the O zone, read the play and sprinted back to beat McDavid and keep the puck safe on the cross THEN was back in the O zone as the trailer when it went back the other way.

Unreal.

Felt like the Bruins carried the majority of the play. As usual, takes climbing Everest to actually put a puck in the net.

Chara/Carlo lasted 1 shift. McQuaid now with Chara against McDavid.

Good bounce back from the early goal given up. Now they need to build on that going forward.

I feel like there is something like 10 times a game where he does something that makes me giggle and say out loud, "Oh my god he is so awesome".

And yet he is the least flashy superstar I can think of, it's just that he does so many of the little things well.

I'll let the Globe & Mail describe Canada's second goal in the World Juniors final:

"Then defenceman Jeremy Lauzon stepped in to knock down an attempted clear, walked toward the middle of the ice, and smashed an unstoppable slapshot into the top left corner past Parsons."

First goal was by some kid named Chatbot or something.

UPDATE: McAvoy scores for US.
