But I was starting to like the guy again!Au revoir Michel?
You're right, Thursday. I keep thinking today is Thursday for some reason. They lose Thursday (not Friday) and they're 1 point out of missing the playoffs entirely.
And the Bruins season has been the opposite of chugging along. They might be considered the streakiest team in the conference, so who knows which way this will shake out.
This has been their season (stolen from Jack Edwards twitter). It's definitely cherry picked start and end points, but it's been a very up and down season for them.
Lost 3 straight
Won 6 of 7
Lost 5 of 7
Won 5 straight
Lost 3 of 4
Won 5 of 6
Lost 7 of 9
Won 3 straight
It's pretty apparent that the East is wide open this year and if they get hot, they have just as much of a shot as anyone else to make the finals.I think that's what makes this trade deadline both interesting and scary. There's a talented team there, but if they hit the playoffs and go on one of those 4 game downslides it's all over.
I'd be apprehensive about buying, too, if I was in charge. I think the question is, do Neely and Sweeney think there is somebody out there who can make this team more consistent, and can they be had at a reasonable price? I am certainly not the one who can answer that, but I really think if Krejci comes back healthy and they add a #3/4 defenseman, there aren't many Eastern Conference teams who would be happy playing them in the playoffs, especially if Tuukka is playing like he did last night.
