It will be high noon in this place, and I will be attending the game with my coworkers. Sadly a ill timed conference call may keep me from watching the first couple of innings. That being said, I am certain that I will be present after the trial innings are over, and the real fun begins. Let the Red Sox chants echo from the stands, as the hometown team get swept. Even our getaway day lineup can beat the Braves.

I know it wouldn’t be tomorrow, but I wish there were a day this season where Brock Holt plays all nine positions.

Velazquez vs. Foltynewicz sounds like a reverse lock, but does it reverse again with a funky lineup? Planning on watching this one, kind of a breakfast at Atlanta for me. Go for the sweep, Alex.

Seems like a safe bet to say Betts, X, Kinsler, and JD will all be off. I think Leon and Nunez gets the day off too.

Beni LF Bradley CF Holt RF
Devers 3B Lin SS Phillips 2B Travis 1B
    Bullpen P
    Swihart C

Could also see Holt on the bench with Travis in right, Swihart at 1st and Vasquez behind the plate.

Is their best hitter Ricky Porky going to be available to PH?

Sam Travis. .632 OPS vs righties in AAA this year. You're 25 Sam, time to figure this shit out.

I think Cora has already said that Devers and Phillips are in and that JDM and X are out. So that's Devers at 3B, Phillips at 2B, so Kinsler's out, too. And Nunez (unless he's playing SS hahahahaha). And we know Leon's not catching. I hadn't heard anything about Betts.

    My guess:
    1. 2B Phillips
    2. SS Holt
    3. DH Pearce
    4. 3B Devers
    5. RF Swihart
    6. 1B Travis
    7. C - Vazquez
    8. CF Lin
    9. P - Velazquez

    [edit:] too little, too late!

Interesting that Moreland is in, he must be feeling better.
It would have been interesting to go with Buzzkill's no-LF but DH in the National League lineup.

Hector should get his first PA of the year and only the second of his career if he stays in the game long enough.

Geez, that away-game lineup would draw criticism from the league office in spring training!

    But win, regardless.

<<Cora on Weds. lineup: "People are gonna go wild tomorrow, fantasy owners and all that. Sorry about them, ahead of time. It’s gonna be an interesting lineup. Tune in.">>

LOL. Looks like a playing out the string lineup.

    Jackie Bradley Jr. (CF)
    Blake Swihart (RF)
    Andrew Benintendi (LF)
    Mitch Moreland (1B)
    Brandon Phillips (2B)
    Rafael Devers (3B)
    Brock Holt (SS)
    Christian Vazquez (C)
    Hector Velazquez (P)

    Suntrust Park report.

Last night was my 1st time there. My 13th MLB park.

    Nice place, though somewhat generic.

Not enough different and interesting food choices. Three different BBQ vendors does not equal variety. $8 dollar pints of Terrapin IPA were very tasty.

It was hot. Mid 80s isn't brutal, but it was quite humid, and the air was completely still.

I was always skeptical about traffic and parking. It wasn't bad, as long as you pre-purchase parking and choose the lot wisely based on which direction you're coming from, and let Waze get you there. We had a 15 min walk from a lot east of I-75 that cost $19 pre-paid.

It was cool to see my binky, Steven Wright pitch one inning.

No Lin, No Travis. The only everyday player likely not on the post-season roster is Phillips.

    Not as bad as envisioned.

Yikes at that lineup. I guess they might squeeze out a 1-0 W.

So, never understood why managers pick getaway days to throw a JV lineup out there. Lets the regulars sleep in, take longer to pack, what? Or maybe Cora is sticking it to the rest of the American League that the team is so good they can afford to do it.

Yeah, but the crusty old timers would say time off from a game where they're either sitting in the dugout, or mostly standing? But you're right, it must be a grind, 162 games.

No doubt, but the extent of the JV-ness of this line-up seems a bit much in my view. But I never like pre-clinching line-ups where this amount of regulars sit at the same time.

A's announcer Glen Kuiper said last night that Bob Melvin should get manager of the year and Kevin Cash would get some votes. No mention of Cora. I was surprised, A's guys usually do their homework as well as any announcers.

Betts/JDM/X can still make a difference as pinch hitters in an NL Park.
