Schilling is taking a pounding. Let's see how close SOSH can make it:

QUOTE
First of all: Are we all really sure that Schilling’s a Hall of Famer? HoM guys, care to weigh in? And second of all, we’re much, much more than a geekfest.

I don't think there will be much debate that Schilling is a Hall of Famer especially with the new revelations about Clemens and Pettitte while Schilling probably ending up the poster boy of the anti-roids front. 300 wins is impressive, but 3000 Ks is much more of personal achievement and as exclusive a club. The only 3000 K guy not in the Hall is Blyleven, who should get in. I blame it to all the anti Dutch sentiment in the BBWAA. Ask Sille.

Wow. In one hour, Schilling went from being 400 votes down, to now taking the lead by 100 votes.

Other than possibly USSM, there is no bigger fan force than SOSH.

Which is sad really, since BTF has pieces of Schilling's blog in its excrement.

They're rather annoyed by the sudden onslaught over there. I'd feel bad for them, but they any competition that slots MLB Trade Rumors #2, higher than Fire Joe Morgan or THT deserves to lose all credibility.

Edit: typo

It's heartening to know that telling TangoTiger he's a ##### ##### can motivate him, even years later. Let me be the first to congratulate him on his stunning accomplishment.

That was posted at BTF.

In any case, I am not involved in any kind of ballot stuffing. In true John Kerry fashion, I actually voted for Primer, before I voted for Schilling.

I posted a link here, and was just waiting for a fair turnout from SOSH, and that was it.

This is even funnier because of the outright hatred shown for Schilling over there. He could cure cancer and someone would say he did it to hear his own voice.

Primer is 1,000x better of a baseball resource (despite the very large and bitter Mets fan contigent), but this will seem fitting if they lose.

Not affiliated in any way with Stan Papi

If I were a staunch critic of the Bush Administration, say a PAC such as MoveOn.org, I might be tempted to hire people to harass old ladies and get it in the paper (and on popular message boards) that Homeland Security was reading people's mail. Would be a good way to turn even more people toward the Democrats in the next election. -DH3

They really hate FJM too.

That being said, I think BTF is a fantastic site, I read it every day, and I do not want to get into any pissing matches with them. On pure baseball discussion alone, they should win the match up with 38 Pitches easily.

No one can win those.

PollDaddy gives the site the option of blocking by cookie (the default) or by cookie + IP. It seems that BustedCoverage took the default. My guess is that PollDaddy is not smart enough to "undo" the already registered votes, if BustedCoverage changes their options to include IP blocking.

Why are you so invested in this Tangotiger? I always got the impression that you were above this type of pettiness.

I'm not sure what you are really talking about here? Invested in what? The only thing I did was post a link, and waiting to see SOSH in action.

What action specifically are you thinking I'm doing?

Primer is about 90% bullshit posts, which is inevitable for an unmoderated site. Almost all threads are destroyed immediately by sophomoric comments, many of them likely inside jokes from some other thread that was destroyed, by people who don't know anything about the topic. Occasionally, and this is rare, an interesting dialog breaks out between different factions who are each listening to each other and advancing understanding. When this happens, the idiots move on to kill other threads instead.

SoSH tends to have more groupthink--since nearly everyone likes the same team--but the moderation tries to allow dialog without personal attacks or deliberately irrelevant posts to destroy the thread.

BTF vs. 38 Pitches: 3050 Votes

The next nearest race in terms of volume?

Sactown Royalty vs. FJM (winning handily with 78% of the vote): 887 Votes

For all their complaining, BBTF has more votes than any other RACE on the board.

Edit:

I'd only checked the West Bracket. Looking over at the East, Kissing Suzy Kolber vs. Fan IQ has drawn 1125 votes in a close race. BTF has 1207 votes by its lonesome.
