    Is Mookie fragile?

The games count just as much now as they do in September.

The First Sixth of the Season is complete... how dey doin'?

I think a lot of people would be freaking out if we let Sale throw that many innings, considering he only threw 214 last year and we all know how that turned out.

The First Sixth of the Season is complete... how dey doin'?

I can’t imagine Sale will get anywhere near 225 innings. I’d just venture to guess that projection has him making 36 starts or so, which would be about 4 more than he’ll actually make.

Red Sox Alumni Game May 27th 10:30 AM

I was considering going to this game anyway since it’s projected to be a Sale day.

Could we be in for a Record Season?

Yeah, they had a hot stretch. It’s pretty clear that was an aberration.

Could we be in for a Record Season?

What’s so great about this team? Our rotation is a hot mess after Chris Sale, ditto for our bullpen after Kimbrel, even more so now that we are down a man. Our bottom third of the order is by far the least productive in baseball. So again I ask, what’s so great about this team?

Could we be in for a Record Season?

This team just isn’t very good. It’s looking more and more like that 2002 that got off to such a great start and then finished .500 the rest of the year.

The First Sixth of the Season is complete... how dey doin'?

2007 feels like a team that should have easily won 100 games. They got off to such a great start but kinda coasted to the finish line so they ‘only’ won 96 but that was good enough for the #1 seed.

The First Sixth of the Season is complete... how dey doin'?

I know 1946 is the team record for wins but it’s also the last time they won 100, right?

The First Sixth of the Season is complete... how dey doin'?

Their starting pitching is bound to regress quite a bit though. Cole and certainly Morton don’t have a track record of being mega aces like they’ve been so far.

    The Starting Rotation's Start

Some say the Yankees juice their gun. I’ve never seen Erod throw that hard before.

The First Sixth of the Season is complete... how dey doin'?

Their starters have overperformed, not under.

    The Starting Rotation's Start

I’d wonder if the slow buildup is the same thing going on with Sale’s velocity but he pretty much just said he’s purposely slowing his fastball down so guys make contact on it. It’s the wrong approach in my opinion , but so far it’s worked.

    The Starting Rotation's Start

Yes. But I’ve loved Sale since the moment he got here.

    The Starting Rotation's Start

https://www.weei.com/blogs/alex-reimer/chris-sale-omf-talks-about-changing-his-pitching-approach-season “Longevity is the key –– longevity and consistency,” he said. “Everyone talks about last year and all the strikeouts, but let’s be honest, the consistency wasn’t good. It was all or nothing...

    The Starting Rotation's Start

I’d still take our rotation over there’s pretty easily especially with how Porcello is doing this year.

I’m including last year, an April start in Toronto and in July against the MFY.

    The Starting Rotation's Start

I really do wonder if the team’s penchant for not scoring runs for Sale AND Kimbrel blowing his wins (3 off the top of my head) will weigh heavy on Chris Sale’s mind when he’s up for free agency. I hope not.

    Bogaerts vs Gregorius

I suspect pitchers aren’t trying to throw him there but are just making mistakes. This tends to happen when you have a lineup with no holes or weak links.

    Bogaerts vs Gregorius

The walks are such an increase over every other year of his career that I need to see more than one month to be convinced he’s now Joey Votto.
