Colts Next Banner: We Almost Had McDaniels

So, this team in Indianapolis was mortally offended and wounded that the Patriots' offense willfully let air out of their footballs and gain an unfair advantage in the AFC championship game. Everyone cried in unison that Belichick had to know it was going on and, by association even if his name...

Colts Next Banner: We Almost Had McDaniels

So, presumably you have a shot at three jobs: NYG, Indianapolis, or NE in 2-3 years ... which do yo take? But wait, there's more ... what if you could have the NE job and embarrass and weaken Indianapolis at the same time?

Colts Next Banner: We Almost Had McDaniels

I allowed myself to forget the trauma of three years ago during the Colts' courtship of McDaniels in the midst of playoff football, but, in retrospect, how many people could have been more offended by the DFG accusation than the Patriots' offensive coordinator? How do you not return the favor...

SBLII: Patriots vs. Eagles, the Build-Up

Just occurred to me, but with the baggage that accompanies a friendship with Trump, you have to figure at least that Kraft has a shot at getting that ring back from Putin.

    The Mount Rushmore of....Athletes?

Steroids sure screws up this conversation ... I'm convinced Bonds at his full-roid Zenith was significantly better than any other hitter ever (could hit any pitch within six inches of the strike zone out of the park) and Clemens otherwise could be in the discussion. What I like is that there's...

2018 AFCCG: Unsung Heroes & Plays

Agree on Allen. Never ceases to amaze me how a punter's one job in those situations is NOT to kick in the end zone and they do SOOO often. Clearly that is harder than it looks, and Allen did it twice at crucial moments.

    SBLII: The Brady Watch

Just hope that if the Pats lose Sunday, Brady will be ready for the Pro Bowl.

    This year's ESPN hit piece

"The Patriots repeatedly offered Garoppolo four-year contract extensions, in the $17 million to $18 million range annually that would go higher if and when he succeeded Brady. Garoppolo and Yee rejected the offers out of hand, for reasons that remain unclear, and the Patriots knew they couldn't...

    2017 Playoff Position Thread

It seems like Pats were on Saturday in divisional round the last three years because they were #1 seed in '16 and '14 and #2 seed in '15. (same pattern holds for '13, Pats #2 seed and played Sat). Same pattern doesn't hold for NFC FWIW ... but point taken about 2010.

    2017 Playoff Position Thread

Looking at past 4 years, it seems the game hosted by #1 (and thus #2) seed rotate between Saturday and Sunday. But the early/late game times are based, to some degree, on market. Last year, as #1 seed, Pats played Sat. (Previous 3 years -- Den on Sun (Jan '16); Pats on Sat (Jan '15); Den on Sun...
