2019 Game Ball Thread: Wk. 2 at Dolphins

That's not how you play football. You can't just completely abandon the long game because your offensive line is not as good as you would've hoped. The difference between a good OL and a bad OL is a matter of probability, not something that completely stops you from having a long route.

    2019 Pats: OL Discussion

Playing with a dumbed down game plan is never a good strategy. What you do if your line is limited is you take your best game plan, you give it your best shot, and if the line comes up short then so be it

2019 Game Ball Thread: Wk. 2 at Dolphins

Entire Defense Brady Brown Burkhead I know this is just Miami, but wow, incredible performance by the defense. Shutout. 0 TDs allowed in 2 weeks. 2 defensive touchdowns. 4 picks. 7 sacks. Wow. This team is going to be something to be reckoned with

    DD fired

I wasn't a huge fan of the Eovaldi extension at the time, and the Sale extension looks bad, but who knows? It's early. But while we're at it, why don't we count the Bogaerts extension and the Martinez signing? Those two look like incredible contracts so far. Why doesn't DD get credit for that...

    DD fired

I think this is a mistake of epic proportions. And I think the "he's not the right guy for the future" or whatever is a load of crap. Dombrowski did an incredible job rebuilding the Expos and the Marlins and the Tigers. Acting like he's just some goon who can throw prospects at teams for stars...

    Kemba Walker to Boston

For the life of me, I couldn't understand where 538's numbers for last year's production regarding Kemba and Kyrie were coming from. The 538 CARMELO model actually projects Kemba to be better than Kyrie for the next 5 years and much better next year, which was encouraging, but I didn't really...

    Enes Kanter Freedom to Boston

Honestly would've preferred to just roll with Theis and Time Lord

    Kemba Walker to Boston

538 actually has Kemba as being better than Kyrie over the next 5 years and significantly better next year, and that doesn't even include possible gains from being added to Brad's system. Huge fan of this signing. The Kanter signing... less so

    Celtics in 18-19

Have to say, this is pretty absurd, as is all of the whiners saying we’re better off without Kyrie Irving, one of the top offensive players in the league. This season has consisted of the Kings pick flopping, Gordon Hayward looking like a shell of his former self, and Kyrie likely to leave. If...

    The 2nd Season - 2019 Playoff Thread

Golden State has twice as much talent as any other team in the NBA, and they're head and shoulders above any other NBA team ever talent wise, yet they still need Zaza to take out the other team's best player or the refs to hand them the game. Pretty pathetic "dynasty"

    The 2nd Season - 2019 Playoff Thread

Refs throwing this game to GS, should be 81-77, ridiculous how they're not calling these fouls, and ridiculous techs

    The Rosen Thread

Rosen is never gonna be anything because he just doesn't love Football. He also has a lot of on the field issues (evidenced by his play last year) that were ignored when people focused on his off field issues. My guess is, he'll never get better because he'll never put in the work to be a good QB.

    Swihart traded to Dbacks

Using a pop-time to illustrate Swihart's defensive prowess is like saying that Wily-Mo Pena was one of the best hitters in baseball because he had a great exit velocity in batting practice. Pop-time is a means to an end, not the end itself, which is catching runners stealing. At that, Vazquez is...

    Swihart traded to Dbacks

He had an absurd BABIP fueled hot streak that still left him as a below average hitter. When the BABIP inevitably came down he fell off a cliff. If you're expecting Swihart to keep up a .359 BABIP, I have a bridge to sell you

    Swihart traded to Dbacks

Not sure why people are upset. Swihart is 27 years old and a bad baseball player. Late bloomers exist but are extremely rare, and Swihart is a terrible defensive catcher and not a good hitter either. The idea of Swihart having 4 WAR seasons is absurd. People are still holding onto the idea of...

    Greatest play in Patriots History?

Wait, people are seriously trying to say that a 45 yard field goal to tie a game is better than a one in a million play that literally turned certain defeat in the super bowl into certain victory? Yeah, sure there was snow, but as someone else pointed out, Janikowski made a 45 yard field goal...

    Flowers Springs to Detroit

I'm no cap expert, but to me this basically looks like a 2/40 deal for Flowers spread out over 3 years to minimize cap hit right? Doesn't Detroit just take the two years of Flowers and then cut him and take the dead money hit in year 3. I don't see how he gets any of that non-guaranteed money

    Flowers Springs to Detroit

Gostkowski has been a pretty much average kicker the past 3 years and Allen is basically the epitome of an average punter. I'd rather have someone off the street + the 7m

    2019 Patriots: Post-SB Roster Thread

I would've paid Brown that though. He was one of the best offensive tackles in the league last year and top tackles are worth their (very high in Brown's case) weight in gold. Saw some study once showing OT's along with WR's, are the most important non QB positions in the NFL

    2019 Patriots: Post-SB Roster Thread

Expected Flowers to leave and not too upset about it. The Bennett trade was fantastic, and he should replace Flowers seamlessly. Pretty upset about losing Brown though. Really hoped we could've kept him. That's a huge loss
