Mike'd Up: The Mike Francesa Show

QUOTE (RedOctober3829 @ Jan 17 2010, 10:26 PM) Wonder if Mike will praise the Jets more or kill the Chargers. Seeing as he dismissed any chance of the Jets getting anywhere past SD or Indy in the divisional round he better be ready to eat crow. Do you think 'crow' is in his dictionnaire...

Mike'd Up: The Mike Francesa Show

Mike's still getting a lot of mileage out of the MFY attempt to 'fix it' by going out and spending $400M during the off season, comparing it to the $14M spent by the Sox.

I've enjoyed following the 'running dogs' for some time now and salute you all. This weekend, to "fête" the 400 years since the settlement of Québec City, they're having a special édition of the Quebec City Marathon. For those familiar with the terrain, the full marathon starts in Lévis and...

I've seen some pretty funny ways that runners have dealt with heavy rain. Hats, trash bags, vaseline and tape to repel water and prevent chafing. Runners are different all right, in a good way. Undaunted.

You have to reduce your speed to adjust for the heat and humidity especially if you are not habituated to it. Saturday should be a no exercise day (the day before your long event). Good luck. Courage.

I hear you. Personally I would look to find an hour before work. When you've got the strength to get through the day. Be sure to stretch quads/calves/hammies/I-bands after to shorten your recovery and avoid injury. The important thing is to 'just do it' as they say.

How about this. Try warming up with 3 miles on the bike. Then do 3 quarters of a mile on treadmill at your 10 min pace. And repeat a couple more sets of that. 3mi bike 3/4 mi treadmill. Then cool down on the bike for a while. That would give you a good hour cv workout that might reduce your...

Unless you're at the head of the line, it's tough to weave your way through that crowd. Might as well not sweat it; it's a good way to work up an appetite for a big dinner. Edit: Here are a few more fun runs coming up in CT: http://www.courant.com/sports/other/hc-out...0,4984427.story

Ah come on; you don't need to be in shape for Manchester. It's more of a traditional festival than a real race. Lots of fun and too many people. Hartford Marathon has been a well organized event for serious runners. Though sometimes plagued with bad weather, it's a nice time of year to do a...
