Lee Jenkins: LeBron James is returning to Cleveland

This is "legacy" move I think. He had his  dynasty in Miami, and this move turns him back to a good guy. Along as he puts up a good performance  and doesn't overtly throw is teammates under the bus no one is gonna fault him if he doesn't win a championship in Cleveland. He also  avoids  the...

Screw you St Patricks Day Uniforms

This is like the reverse of that. The shorts are OK. The shirt is kinda ugly.  Could be worse.  Mainly I think it's the color, which could be a lighting issue.

Injuries, Preparation, and Regulation in the Modern NFL

Just to state the obvious: The concussion protocols mean more stuff counts and an "injury" right now.    In general, the speed and intensity increases mean people can "play through" less injuries also,  so they could have an effect in that sense, even if the direct injury increase contribution...

    The Welker Hit on Talib

If it's legal,  they need to totally teach the Pats recievers that move.  (Esp Gronk).   That would help alot next year I think.

I don't know how you would check, but my theory is BB has been coaching mediorce talents up to a degree. Basicly, they havn't had the draft position to get players with both elite talent and health. Again, I'm not sure how you would check something like that.  And it's hard to draft for...

The AFCCG Post Game Thread: at Denver

I think to go all the way they just need better line play. Pretty much every season ending loss has been marked by them losing badly in the trenches. I'm not sure they can retool them fast enough however.  The early teams were pretty much competative against anyone, no matter how good they...

I think the Pats can win another ring if they can manage to stay healthy long enough.  Not sure how possible that is however.

    Patriots and the Media

I dunno about impossible, but I do think difficult to sustain winning postseason games/superbowls. If you have enough good players to be the best team in the league, assuming the best players get the most money....you pretty quickly run into the cap. I do think the sustained post season...

Dan Shaughnessy: Taking a dump in your mouth one column at a time

Sports writing is probably about 50% fact and 50% opinion. I'm assuming he liked the opinion aspect more, so it's about 10%/90% for him.

    Hall of Fame balloting

Most of the current voters couldn't vote then.

    Hall of Fame balloting

Yeah. I can see an argument that Biggio isn't a first ballot guy(if you believe in that sort of thing), but I find it hard to believe that people would consider him not hall worthy at all. You can really find 10 people on this ballot better than him?   All the guys who got elected are better...

    Hall of Fame balloting

^^^^^ Ok, if you didn't vote for him due to the mustache, that might be an acceptable reason.     So did Babe Ruth. Has any player ever actually shrunk? They should start fudging Pedroia's physicals.   What's bad is that Bonds, Clemens and Manny will hang around for years and split the voting...

    Hall of Fame balloting

I can agree that there may be a difference between "max effort" and coasting, giving up runs never helps a pitcher bc...you have to throw more pitches.  I mean, even if, to take the above example, Morris was his own Villareal....you would think he would just decide to max effort after a while...

    Hall of Fame balloting

That ballot is so full, I can see people leaving him off in order to vote for deserving candidates who need the votes more. It's not like he isn't going to get in.   Now, if you don't vote for him and have less than 10 names on your ballot they should take away your voting rights.

What's funny is when people use this as an excuse to vote for him over Schilling.

The implication that the Sox will be happy to face the MFY 19 times a season in the future made me smile.

SportsonEarth Narrative on 2013 World Series

Jordan trying and failing to conceal his dislike for both teams made it unintentionally funny. And yes, anything that mocks McCarver can't be all bad. And I liked the ending.

    2014 Top 100 lists: A Table!

So the Sox basically  lose 5pts for next year as Xander is a lock to not be on farm then. My takeaway would be the Sox farm is in good shape, even if the exact ordinal position is debatable.
