    The WNBA: Thread II

Was I the only one amused that during her SNL appearance, Clark shouted out a list of players who helped pave the way for her to the WNBA - and she didn't mention a single UConn player?

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

That was Judge's only hit of the series. And a good one it was.

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

Just saw the replay. That was a great pick by Volpe on a weird hop. I've been really impressed with his defense this year.

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

    Great win!

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

Presumably the Toronto manager was also pissed at the ump when all those balls were called strikes against the Yankees.

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

That was a fine piece of hitting by Judge. Also, this ump has been fucking awful this inning. Has he been this bad all game?

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

C'mon, Aaron, run into one or get a hit or anything.

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

Dogshit called strike call. Edit: Didn't matter as he still draws the walk.

    Trevino!

    4/17: Stroman vs. Gausman

Anytime Judge wants to start hitting, that would be great.

    The WNBA: Thread II

Overall, I think this is true, but a few slight pushbacks. The Seattle Reign were recently purchased by the Sounders. And the Storm used to be owned by the Sonics/Thunder, but are owned by someone else now. I think with league expansion and popularity, higher salaries will come. That is what I...

Anthony Volpe And What Can He VolBe?

I saw a stat on Twitter yesterday that Volpe has had the most balls called strikes of any hitter in baseball so far this season. Remarkable considering how well he is hitting the ball.

    The WNBA: Thread II

As a loose Storm fan, can you explain? I know they reloaded a bit this offseason, but I come and go with my paying attention to women's college basketball/WNBA so I'm not really caught up on who is who. As an aside, I bought tickets to go watch Indiana at Seattle on May 22 and it was nearly...

    4/15: Gil vs. Bassitt

Sterling just retired effective immediately. And the lineup is out: Volpe, ss Soto, rf Judge, dh Rizzo, 1b Torres, 2b Verudgo, lf Cabrera, 3b Wells, c Grisham, cf

It is high....it is far....John Sterling is gone from the Yankees broadcast booth

Yankees just made it official. Sterling has retired effective immediately and will be honored at the Stadium on Saturday. Is he on death's door or something? I know he is really old, but this is all very bang-bang.

It is high....it is far....John Sterling is gone from the Yankees broadcast booth

I know lots of people hate Sterling, but he has been my lone broadcast connection to my favorite team for a very long time. He has a tremendous voice and despite his failing vision, still offers fantastic calls. His home run calls have been cringe at times (ARod and Matsui come to mind), but for...

Still 4/13 - Poteet vs. McKenzie

Who is this pitcher for us? A prospect?

    4/13 - Schmidt vs Carrasco

I'm looking forward to Grisham completing the trifecta and hitting into a double play with two outs and the bases loaded next at bat.

    4/13 - Schmidt vs Carrasco

Trent Grisham is appearing in just his third game and hit into a double play with the bases juiced and no outs. I guess at least he drove the run in. Also, old friend Estevan Florial is getting the start for the Guardians, while Carrasco is starting his first game in Cleveland in four years.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

I think that no one cares about Antoine Walker or Latrell Sprewell, because while they were good players who were famous, they certainly are not in the same stratosphere of Ohtani. For whatever reason, Americans like to see people who are at the top of their profession get brought down a notch...
