    Anyone else noticed the Vazquez has gotten his OPS up to almost 750? Combined with his defensive chops, that makes him a pretty damned valuable player. I wouldn't rate him #1, but top 5? I think so.

    I was just reading on fangraphs (article on Justin Bour: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/justin-bour-same-as-he-ever-was/ ) that the seams on the ball seem to be lower this year, leading to less drag and thus more distance with the same EV. Interesting.

    There almost has to be a connection with the MVP snub? Maybe he dialed it back for a game to make a point? If that's what he's doing, we might be in for s how in Game 4... although you'd have to think his teammates would be annoyed by that behavior (unless they were on-board beforehand).

    I'm not sure I necessarily like the way it deals with runner on base when entering the game. Getting out of a bases-loaded, no out situation without allowing a run is much much more valuable than coming in with the bases empty.

    My idea for this problem is this: when you draft a player, their rookie contract lasts through the year of the player's 25th birthday... for a fixed dollar amount. Players thereby have somewhat more motivation to stay in college and improve their draft stock, unless they are already very high...
