Welcome to the Sons of Sam Horn Auction to benefit “Curt’s Pitch for ALS.” Curt’s Pitch was selected as beneficiary in honor of SoSH friend John Hoyt, who passed away in September, 2007 after battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). The SoSH community has come together in an amazing and inspiring way to meet or beat our goal of $50,000. Read the "Bid it for. . ." thread in the forum to read some of the stories about how ALS has touched the lives of many of us.
The auction is full of fantastic items donated by members and sponsors. We have memorabilia, tickets, game packages, golf outings, artwork, a weekend vacation in Boston, a tour of the set of “The Office,” and lots of surprises. Curt Schilling, founder of “Curt’s Pitch,” has donated a pre-game Red Sox clubhouse tour and tickets to the 8/14 game against Texas! Non-members as well as members are welcome to bid on the auctions and to donate auction items. To bid as a non-member, you must first register with a $5 donation. See the instructions in the thread at the top of the forum marked "How To." To donate an item to be auctioned, please PM Candy LaChance. You can view the auctions by clicking this link. “Curt’s Pitch for ALS” is recognized as one of the leading charities among players’ foundations. The Schillings have been profoundly moved seeing the courage of the families and those fighting this devastating disease. Please join with us at Sons of Sam Horn in our support of the Schilling’s fight against ALS by bidding high, and bidding often! The "Curt’s Pitch" and the ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter’s tax exempt number is 04–3085718. Should you require a copy of their Federal Tax Group Exemption letter, which establishes that they are a non-profit, 501©(3) organization, please feel free to contact the ALS Massachusetts Chapter: 781–326–8884.
