Sure did. Lovely old Hudson, MA - finally came back home.
Nice. Would love to be close to Medusa all the time. As is, just waiting for the other brewery in Maynard to open because Battle Road is pretty meh (and the food is awful).

Congrats! And at 38 I'm lucky I can sleep past 7:30 am and I don't have kids. It only gets worse.
Thanks! It’s a long time coming. I love the city, and I’ll look back fondly on my time living there, but it’s good to be home.

I can literally walk to Medusa. Downtown Hudson is awesome. Plus, Rail Trail Flatbread Co has a great beer list (and great food) too.

Congrats! I'm thinking about moving back northeast next year when I'm eligible to retire from the Air Force, and starting to work on job search stuff. It's really terrifying to think about...

Yeah, Rail Trail is excellent. Old School House is also awesome Portugese food. Their morcilla is fantastic.

I think I'm going to not buy in Portland until the next dip (it'll happen), but in the meantime, I'm too am looking to rent near a disc golf course once my dad gets done recovering from his surgery and I can move out.

God damn, I miss watching the Bruins play.

My left stops, transitions, crossovers and stick handling are coming along nicely, though.

My five year old just got into watching hockey this year...I let him stay up and watch the first period of games during the week, whole games on the weekend (yes, he watched the game 4 OT loss against Tampa). He's super bummed, but right now his entire life is revolving around the start of next season.

"Poppa! Only five months until October! Then we can watch the Bruins!"

I was talking to him about starting kindergarten in the fall- in September. His reply? "That's right before October when we can watch the Bruins!" I'm either a great parent or an awful one...

you're down on the Cape right? Drop me a pm when you think he's old enough to hit up a game, we'll find a nice weekend matinee you can use our tickets for if you want.

You're doing god's work here.

I wanted to let you all know I took a half day tomorrow just so I could golf with my brother and father for the first time this year. The crisis is over, thank you all for your help and understanding during this difficult time.

Awesome, thanks. I will probably reach out this season.

Yeah we're in Falmouth. I'm curious to see how he does with the Cape League this year- last year he would get bored if he was in the bleachers, but behind home plate he was rapt. We live less than 10 minutes from Guv Fuller on foot (we can hear the games in our kitchen with the slider open), so I'd like to get out there with him and stay for a few innings.

Yeah...I worry sometimes. I was installing a hanging light fixture in my entryway a few weeks ago (note- always hire someone else to do this) when I saw my son (he had just turned 5) out back tossing a whiffleball to himself and hitting it. I poked my head out the back slider to say what up, and no shit...he looks at me and says (with a dead straight face)
“I’m working on my launch angle.”

Now I mentioned it to him before, but just explaining some stuff he was asking questions about.
Now the little fuck is out back working on his uppercut.

I swear I don't push this stuff on them (my daughter has been skating since before she was 3), they ask to do it. My wife was a college athlete (D1 basketball walk-on at a prominent Big11 school, not a big deal) so she gets it, but I really do worry sometimes.

I tried soccer, basketball, baseball, and fencing in grade and high school. None of them clicked like disc golf is now for me. Maybe your kids are just finding the sports they have a passion for way earlier than most people.

Its just a function of them absorbing what has been around them. My son is a huge baseball and hockey fan, just like his dad, weird right. I haven’t pushed it on him either, but then, in the winter hockey is ALWAYS on the TV, and in the summer, baseball, so it really shouldn’t be a shock that he’s picked up his dad’s seasonal rhythm either.

Anthony Gulizia (who seems to have taken over for Joey Mac at BSJ), had an awesome article on Jake DeBrusk today.

The Chara stuff, in particular, was awesome:

I’m dead, on the ground,” DeBrusk said. “I can’t feel my body. Zee was pumped I did it. And the next thing you know, he’s going for his second mile.”

I’m tired. Daughter decided to get up at 4am today and be super wide awake until I had to go to court. I’m on coffee #6.
Do NOT get your blood pressure checked today.

When I went up to bed last night, I couldn’t find my 5 year old- finally found him out cold asleep in his closet on the floor on top of a couple of sleeping bags. No clue what he was thinking.

Anyone spectated at a golf tournament before? I'm headed to a disc golf tournament this weekend and I want to ensure my plan for the day is solid.

1) Packing 2 PBnJ sandwitches, 2 apples, 2 veggie snacks, and 2 gatorades.
2) Weather-appropriate wear each day, along with bug spray, suncreen, a hat, and sunglasses,
3) Mobile phone charger x 2

Anything else?

Spectating?

No chilled mini keg?
Spectating, as in specifically following James Conrad and Philo Brathwaite (the guy I posed the video of earlier, on the same course/hole as I posted earlier) around the course for a round each since two are being played on Friday. Those two have backhand-dominant throwing styles like I do, throw many of the same discs I throw, and I think it would be cool to see them take on a course that I've played a few times now.

Vape pen not mini keg.

Edit: I think I'm completely missing the Ernie Els reference.

Oh I got what you meant by spectating, just meant that doing so without a mini keg is objectionable - assuaged by the vape pen of course

Gotta listen to the most recent Spittin' Chiclets for the Ernie Els story

Went completely over my head. No worries.

I've been meaning to start that. I'll go listen now. Thanks.

So....

I was coming back to work from a hearing, and on Route 102 (across from my office) is a relatively busy main road here in Londonderry (by exit 4 of 93). There were 5 baby geese stranded in the middle of the road, so I stopped traffic, stopped a truck (who almost killed them all), and escorted them across the road to the other side. No one told me to fuck myself, which was nice. Poor guy in the truck was about to cry if he had hit them, but I assured him he stopped in time. I then couldn't find mama goose, so I called NH Fish and Game. Just then, I found Mama Goose, and Fish and Game told me they were all set. I was feeling relieved.

Then I saw it. The hawk, almost smiling at me, sitting at the top of the telephone pole eagerly eyeing the lunch I just delivered across the road to it.

Such is life, I guess.

Watching the end of this Calder Cup game is hilarious. They’re so fired up. I bet they do a parade for them in Toronto.

Just fucking with you brah.

I'd make fun of your mom, but with you as a son, I think she's suffered enough.
I was trying to think of something witty as a retort but I'm not witty, so I had no response. And fuckin' right she did!

I also just pulled my groin this week. It hurts to run but I can still play hockey, though my first stride after pivoting is miserably weak. Just hope I don't play a young team that does dump and chase shit. Dump and chase shit in men's league is the worst, regardless of injury or anything.

I'm really sick of this "pollen levels at 34250434" or "rain day" cycle we've been on. I guess I prefer the rain since I basically don't go outside anyway. But still.
