Szwarz and Postma are up. None of the injured guys traveled other than Backes, but Backes won’t play on the trip. They just let him come along to visit friends and family. McQuaid practiced yesterday so he should be in.

I would think the Acciari as C experiment is over and Szwarz goes in to that spot.

Marchand - Riley - Pastrnak
Donato - Krejci - Heinen
Wingels - Szwarz - Gionta
Schaller - Kuraly - Acciari

That is my guess, at least.

What happened to Rick Nash and Krug? Depth really, really being tested at this point.

Krug has been playing through something for a while. Took a fairly nothing hit last game along the boards but skated back to the bench immediately, holding a shoulder or elbow or something. Another dreaded UBI probably.

Krug got dinged in Carolina. Rick got dinged in Tampa. Krug was clearly laboring on Tuesday. No reason to push it.

The bruins lose one guy every game at this point, I find myself just rooting for no one else to get hurt each game now

Riley Nash is going to be a fucking monster when he goes back the the 3rd line after all this experience with Marchand.

If DeBrusk can get back for some part of the playoffs he’s gonna be a fucking monster playing on Nash’s LW, cuz Donato is making his case to stay with Krejci.

A crazy part of me wants to leave 63-20-88 together and see what Donato could do on a line with Bergy.
They’d be insane to split up 63 and 37. Moving 88 elsewhere and putting Donato with 63 and 36 isn’t all that crazy but I don’t see it happening.

I'm not taking Donato away from Krejci. It just works. Try Bergeron with DeBrusk and Backes if you want to keep Nash Marchand and Pasta together. Christ imagine how many 3rd D pairs Bergeron would see in that scenario?

I was sort of thinking the same thing. Seeing how well Riley has played with Marchand and Pasta gives them some flexibility I think, depending on matchups in the playoffs. Against teams that are top-heavy and matching up heavily vs the top line, they can mix it up a little bit once in a while.

In that scenario, Donato/Debrusk-Krejci-Rick is a monster 3rd line

What the fuck? Wasn’t the arm up on the hit on McQuaid?

However they mix and match them, whatever ends up being the third line is going to be an impossible matchup for whoever faces them. DeBrusk-Riley-Backes could absolutely pummel teams into submission. Heinen-Kuraly-Acciari as a fourth line?

Get healthy everyone, please.

I’d pair Miller with Krug and Holden on Grz’s right, but, yeah.

You missed Schaller. And I would flip Carlo and Miller in your lineup.

All good points and responses that show, more than I could have believed when he started doing this, what depth Sweeney has built for this team.
