Nobody Cares
Looked around, didn't see a thread for this. Jaylen Brown was impressive last night in the Futures game. Dude is a burgeoning stud. Here's a fun little C's exercise to kill some time whilst you wait for the real games to begin:

I'm going with:

Bird
Parish
McHale
Ainge
Rondo

GO!

If the goal is to compete in today’s NBA, I’m thinking:

KG
Horford
Pierce
Kyrie
Ainge.

Gives me spacing, ball movement and switchable D. I don’t really know enough about KC Jones, but swapping him and Ray for my back court might make sense too.

KG
Bird
‘Toine
Rondo
IT

Would be fun as hell to watch though.

I love the fact that the ‘86 team violates the rules.

Just because I want to see them play together defensively in today's game:

Russell
Garnett
Lewis
Rondo
Ainge

(But it's hard to get past a potential front line of Horford, Garnett, and Bird. Yikes. With them I'd probably switch the backcourt to KC and IT4).

Russell
Maxwell (or “Maxell” as they call him)
Bird
DJ
Ainge

If you don’t have Russell *and* Bird on your team, are you really maximizing its greatness?

Jones
Ainge
Bird
Garnett
Parish

Edit:
On second thought, I think I'm more intrigued with

Jones
Ainge
Pierce
Bird
Russell

Trader Danny
DJ
Bird
McHale
Big Game AL Horford

Great team, slightly worse rebounding and shot blocking than 86, but I make it up with ball-handling and shooting range.

That's a good group, right there. Has the shooting and defense to compete in any era.
Remember, though: that unspecified "Jones" is KC (career 7.4 ppg on 38.7% fg, 64.7% ft) not Sam (22.8 ppg on 45.6% fg, 80.3% ft).

Still very nice shooting with the killer 2-3-4 of Ainge-Pierce-Bird, but not as nice as it seems with a first glance at "Jones." In today's game, a PG of KC Jones' skillset (even adjusted for today's better overall shooting) would be a bit of liability.

I might split the difference with that team and go with:

Ainge
Pierce
Bird
Maxwell
Russell

Second time around now that I understand the rules:

Russell (5)
McHale (4)
Pierce (3)
Rondo (2)
Ainge (1)

I'm having a hard time deciding whether Pierce+Irving is more valuable than Bird+Rondo.

Hard to beat a Danny, Horford, Garnett/Russell foundation.

Don’t like seeing Bill Russell with a cane still needing to be held up by Grant Hill and Kareem.

Dennis Smith Jr’s? Absolutely. That was impressive.

Brent Barry deadpanning “my dad would never pass” was hilarious
no. the weakest Mitchell dunk where he takes 3 ' 6" Kevin Hart and has has him hunch over and jump over him.

Mitchell is electric. The NBA killed it with the number of insane players that came out of last year's draft.

The NBA really has a fantastic culture full of lots of great personalities that I actually want to see do well.

@Blacken ’s been trying to sell me in this angle if the league for years but I hadn’t had occasion to get back into basketball for awhile.

But yeah, they’re killing it.
